Your friend is insane and stupid. Very very stupid.

Where exactly on Lakeshore where you guys driving? I don't remember any curves on Lakeshore?

Good thing your buddy wasn't tearing it up on Gardniner Exp or the DVP!

dui, vehicular assult, vehicular manslaughter, vehicular murder, minor in comsumption, driving without a liscense, wreckless driving, public endangerment, wreckless endangerment, and i bet the list would have been much longer if you hadn't have gotten lucky and made it home in one piece. glad to see you are in canada and nowhere near where i live.

Canada? Lakeshort Drive near water.....Wellington....sounds like Chicago to me. I live in a NW suburb. What if I was walking downtown and got killed by this piece of sh!t? :|

What's the deal with Canadians and the big chips on their shoulders? I was just trying to point out that people from the forums...like me...could be killed by the actions of his friend.

it was how you two pointed it out that it was more important if it happened in an area where you were. look at your wording.

You two? Are you drinking? I'm typing by myself here.
Yes, I would rather not have this kind of thing happening where I live. Why am I a bad guy for that? I don't want anyone dying though, whether it's a Canadian or American. Actually that doesn't matter at all, still don't know why you would bring that up.

your friend drove drunk

you let him drive?

you're both morons, esp you for letting him drive

both of you should have died:disgust:

It was about 3 hours after he stopped drinking so I figured by that time he'd be almost sober, I dunno but after 3 hours *I'm* almost sober, maybe I was wrong. Also, I've been in the car with him before and he's never done that before, my other friend was surprised too. I've done moronic things before but don't worry, neither of us will be going in the car againwith him for a while :Q

Oh, he's 18, not 15.

there's no way to justify what you did. You're a moron, end of story.

You should get a new friend. No one should ever considering putting the life of a friend in such danger. That is just ridiculous.

Glad you're okay.

By the way, I hope, for the sake of that kid and whomever he would inevitably hit, that he never gets his license or access to a car (he clearly doesn't care about driving illegally).

i don't believe you when you say you were going 180 km/h in a 100 and weren't scared or concerned.

On an empty highway? No, 180 km/h on an empty highway doesn't scare me at all. 140 km/h on a city street scares me a hell of a lot more 🙂

Ah no, you're thinking of Toronto. We're over in Montreal 🙂

Well gee, thanks for the kind words. I'll go jump off a bridge now because you think I should be dead

What happened, happened. He wasn't sloshed. His handling of the car was almost as good as normal (and it was 5 hours after he stopped drinking, not 3 like I mentioned before), it was the way he was driving the car that surprised me. I'm glad we didn't die nor did he kill anyone else. It disgusts me that you think someone should die because they made a mistake that didn't end up in tragedy.

Well I asked him if he had any plans of taking the car again and he's like "no way, not doing that sh!t again". I think he woke up even though nothing bad happened. Better that way... but I'm still not getting with him in the car again when he's p!ssed, alcohol or not. I don't want to die young 😉

He just got his learner's permit a week ago, and well, he was pissed off over things which I won't mention here because it doesn't matter (let's just say they would p!ss me off, too), and he "borrowed" his mom's standard civic, and we went driving along with another friend (at about 5am).

I thought I drove a bit crazy when I was pissed off, well that's nothing compared to last night! My friend had drank 8-9 beers, and we left about 2-3 hours after he stopped drinking. Just after leaving the house he floored it and then we were going 140km/h (90 mph) down Lakeshore, a twisty 2-lane road along the water, which had black ice here and there, it was slippery. He was making the car skid (on purpose) at those speeds which scared the sh!t out of me.

Then we went on the highway where he brought it up to 180km/h (115 mph) which didn't really bother me because it was the highway. Then we went around downtown, then on the way back we went down this street Wellington which has lots of bars and clubs at 140-150km/h (90-95 mph) and blew a red light at that speed, which also scared the crap about of me because I don't want to die 😉

Even worse than that though is when we went back on Lakeshore and it was a section with telephone poles right along the road and the road has no shoulder, and it twists a lot so you can't see farther than about 5 seconds down the road, and he has a tendancy to hug the right so these poles are flying by at 140km/h about 10 centimeters from my face.. holysh!t.

I mean, I've done some stupid sh!t like getting my flat when I hit that curb in the snowy parking lot but I've never driven to put my or other's lives in danger..

I don't think I'm gonna go driving with him for a while :Q

Everyone who drives on Lakeshore, drives like that. That highway is mint for speeding!

And anyways, what Civic goes 180km/h you are exaggerating there Buddha😉

Hopefully you guys do not live near me.

1. if he only had his g1 he isn't allowed on highways except with a liscenced driver trainer or exmanier.

2. everyone drives fast on lakeshore

3. don't get in a car with people that drink and drive.

2. everyone drives fast on lakeshore

Read the whole thread people!! I'm in Montreal, not Toronto or Chicago or wherever you think I am 🙂

Lakeshore is one-lane on each side only, and looks like this: Map

Lakeshore is defined by those four points and keeps going along the water.

I thought you were talking about Lakeshore here in Toronto.. whew... I'm glad he's not in the same city I'm in.

Funny before I read your profile I was thinking that certainly sounds like Montreal.

I call BS on going 140 on the Lakeshore. I lived in Montreal for 34 year and there's no way in hell you could go that fast. Maybe 100.

As to underage drinking unless things have changed the drinking age in Quebec is 18. So you can throw that one out.

Any way you look at it your friend is a idiot. Tell him to grow up. If he wants to kill himself tell him to jump off a bridge. There are quite a few to choose from in the Montreal area.

Legally he probably wasn't drunk anymore (I think it's 5 beers to 0.08 and that's if you drink them fast), and it wasn't really the alcohol.

You're kidding yourself here. Either that, or you just don't know any better. 5 beers will put you well over the legal limit for many hours. Even one beer (yes, just one) can put you over the legal limit for two hours or more.

If you drink 8 or 9 beers, you need a good nights sleep before you can even think of driving.

Friends don't let friends drive drunk, your friend was drunk, you were a lousy friend.

DO NOT RIDE WITH HIM AGAIN! Your life depends on it, he WILL do that again, he WILL hurt someone sooner or later.

Sad Hopper
Exactly. He's lucky to be posting today.
BTW, how much the kid weighs and what was eaten previously that day would affect alcohol metabolism as well.
<Alien slowly shaking his head reminding himself he has to talk to 16 year old nephew soon.

Woo hoo! JUST got learners permit, underage drinking, and wreckless endangerment! Where the HECK are the cops when you need them? Their pulling over some idiot who was doing five over....

My God I pray your friend NEVER gets a license, there is absolutely 110% NO EXCUSE for what he did, PERIOD.
