He places super high value on money. it's really really irritating.

case in point:
I have a denon surround system that is really freakin nice. he has this bose lifestyle system. mine sounds 100x better than his, but he is ALWAYS telling me how i should buy a bose to replace mine.

I drive a 200sx (highly modified) he drives an infiniti. he is CONSTANTLY telling me how i should buy something nicer

everything is about how he has something nicer, and i should buy something like it.

it's getting freaking annoying.

Am I overreacting?

well. I bought a router last month. (wireless-g) guess what he JUST called. guess who bought a new router? There was nothing wrong w/ his old one!!!!! He was like 'yeah.. internet was kind of slow... so i went ahead and bought a new wireless router. except mine has a built in firewall, which yours doesn't.. but no big deal, you can always buy a new one, right?'

I was like your an idiot. that's dumb. you had no reason to buy a new router.
 
Say, "You've got a nice butt, I've been meaning to get one like it." Then squeeze his butt. That oughta shut him up. Or turn him on?

other people judge him bigtime for being a stuck up brat.. even though he usually isn't. iunno


also.. I CANNOT have anything better than him
I buy a laptop; he buys a better one
i buy a wireless g router, HE buys one to replace his almost new wireless b

i buy a new dvd player that happens to be better than his, he buys one better than mine

 
Bose is teh suxor...it's a quality product, but there are many better than it. All marketing...and the research they do? They research how to get customers to pay so much for their products. I'll take paradigm over bose anyday.

Just because you pay more for something doesn't mean you are getting your money's worth.
 
Tell him that his Infiniti is really just a wannabe BMW. Then get him to let you drive his new bmw. Then squeeze his butt.

Maybe, he's a friend that's not worth having as a friend. Sure, friendships can have conflict - but, your friendship appears to have contstant "material" conflict.

I used to be a bit like him but realised it was annoying.....I still have nicer stuff though 😉 but no need to go on about it.
