I have an external USB 3.0 HD(Verbatim 1TB) on my 8.1 PC( connected to native USB 3.0 port),boot time is not slowed on my PC,not had your issue.
can you try this mate

disconnect the drive then reboot and time it from the initial bios splash screen till the moment you see the Windows desktop

next, connect your external HDD then reboot and see if the time is the same or not

I think they would appreciate a well written explanation of the issue(s) you are having.

If you gave feedback by using "l33t sp3ak" to call them names I don't think they'll listen. Just saying.

Same speed, around 20 secs with fastboot disabled and using mechanical Seagate 1TB HD(have Crucial SSD as cache drive and PC is nearly four years old).

Win10 well several builds so hard to judge until we see Win10 RTM version, personally I think it's looking great and yes will be upgrading next month, lets be honest here Win7 is Vista with a minor face lift, nothing special about aging Win7 which is on its way out.

You seem to be ranting about minor issues from what I've seen and on a beta build ie preview, well anybody with sense waits until final build and even then your issues so far are very minor.

End of the day I take Win10 or Linux over Win7 so you know where I stand.

Roll on Win10 :) .

Isn't Win 7, Win8 and now 10 all based on the same code as Vista? Or was Win 8 brand new code?

Don't like it, don't use it. Its free. Idiots.

When has any MS been "free"? When it's bundled with a new PC? You're still paying for it, even then.

Oh, you mean the preview builds. I would consider those to be a "free trial edition", not "free".

You want free, look at Linux or BSD.

The current build of windows 10 is version 10.0.10130. They changed to v10 late last year.

bring the aero back, atleast I would enjoy 3rd party eye candy themes. They removed aero from Win8 because ARM processor in tabs running Win8RT was not power efficient to run aero. Now, time is different, I hope they will bring full fledged aero back with Win10.

Apart from the OS being a giant desktop version of Windows Phone I have no issues with it. I don't use smartphones so don't like the skin but the rest of your concerns are based off a beta. It ain't ready.

That's for Windows 8, might work for W10.

I'm pretty sure classicshell will also work with Windows 10 if the new UI is still not palatable to you.

If you have Win7 or Win8.1 you can upgrade to a full version of Win10 for free when it comes out. It lasts forever.

Not forever. For the "supported lifetime of device."

In reality, it could mean we get the same thing we have now, just worded differently.

Classic Shell does indeed still work with Win10. It will fail to create the Apps folder properly (it will be empty) but you can create your own apps folder as needed.

I see more loss than gain in Windows10 vs 7 or 8.1.

Steve Jobs said that as time went on in a successful business you had to constantly defend against B and C teamers making it up the ladder and bringing things down. That's what happened at Microsoft. The Vista hash-up was embarassing but Windows 7 corected it. After the silly, tarded, abortion of Windows 8 I'm not sure MS will ever do anything right again. Maybe by accident.
