... so I figured, why not go all the way?
I picked up an Athlon XP 1800 and I'm running it on an MSI 6830 motherboard with a Thermoengine heatsink/fan in a generic full tower case. The resulting temperature is 145 degrees F on the CPU pretty consistently, 120-ish in the case.
So, as this *is* my first effort, I'm going to be paranoid.
1) From the diagnostics, the temperature is a little high (they're set by default to go off at 140). Is this something to be worried about?
2) The simplest way to bring the temperature down would be to...? Mount a fan drawing air into the case, or one pushing it out? Yes, I know turning the computer off will do it.
