He was a crusty, sometimes difficult man, but I loved him and he loved me, and we both knew this explicitly.

Sorry for your loss, but maybe this will help heal the hurt over time.

That's sad, but 89 is not too bad. I kinda doubt I'll make it that long. Hope he was healthy the last few years. Nice that you had a decent relationship, that's worth a lot! My sincere condolences to you...

Mine and my family's condolences. Lost my father in 94 and my wife's mom died this past June.
I know how you feel.

Let it be known that there are many, many millions of people who appreciate everything that veterans such as your father did for their country.

I am very sorry to hear that. I don't know what I'd do if I lost my father. Have a safe flight. :(:(:(

Perknose,

I thought of my on father's passing when I read you?re post. My dad was 90 and lived with us for the last 3 years before he died late last year. Like most men of his age he was also hard headed and hard to get along with at times.

About a month before he died he said to me "I love you more than you can ever know". I know this doesn't sound like much in this post but it meant (and means) more to me than anything else that I can imagine.

Your dad sounded like he was a great man.

My condolences to you and yours.

My sincere condolences, man! I lost my father 5 years ago so I know what you are going through. Just hang onto the good memories and let the rest of them go.
