I'm worried about her.
She went on a crazy rant about John Kerry. Now, I don't care what anyone thinks about John Kerry. Leave that for the P&N forum.
Anyway, she was talking about how Bush was evil and stupid. She had no real body to it, it was just flamebait.
I go to school in Mississippi. Rural Mississippi. Most people there are conservative. In one day she managed to alienate the class. She berated one student for asking about John Kerry having a selfinflicted wound. "Those are all dirty lies!". "John Kerry and Edwards will save this country." "We need nationwide free medical coverage"
So today I learned that my English teacher sucks at making arguments, has no problems alienating the class, and would probably fail anyone who suggested anything she doesn't like. She said not to fall for the "McCarthy like trials of Kerry by the media" and said we should get our news from the internet.
I thought about half of the class was going to walk out.
I hate politics, so I didn't comment. If it's going to be like this, I may just drop the class. That's what everyone was talking about as we walked from the building. My beef isn't with her beliefs, it's with her inability to form a decent argument, and her disdain for anyone who dares to question her.
Has anyone ever had a teacher like this?
