First not that it matters in here but I am white, have been all my life. I have been with the us gov for almost thirty years and I was looking at my personal file on line and I was astonished to see this. I just never noticed or looked, I mean why would I? How all these years they could get this wrong. Questions is should I

1. Not change it at this point?
2. Ask HR to change it?
3. Write a book about it?

That's one way to stay off diversity reporting.
Just tell start telling them that all the white people are black.
See if you can get your gender changed to female.
Be a strong black woman.

Thank you for your efforts to demonstrate that your agency is meeting diversity goals.

If you don't specify a race on your employment application, your employer is supposed to make a best guess.

All kidding aside,
HR can and will use anything against you at the first sign of trouble.
If an issue occurs and they pull your records only to find that you....

Never mind. You work for the government.

Just do the thing white people used to do during the 20th century and tell everyone that you have Indian blood somewhere.

Are you sure about your race? I mean, your great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great ancestor could have been African American.
It worked for a certain Elizabeth...claiming to be Native American 😉

All kidding aside, these kinds of errors happen all the time, nothing new.
Could have been a simple typo, or corrupted data or...or...
I would correct it, so, at some point in the future, someone won't say you lied.

Actually a lot of white and black people do have some Native American blood in them.

Post a picture of yourself so we can determine your race. A picture of your girlfriend will also be required. The more skin that is shown, the faster we can get to the bottom of this.

That looks like a white person who spent too much time tanning.
Guess the hair was a give away....

That's the FL tan mom that the reporter supposedly intentionally "filtered" the pic to make her look worse. Recently, iirc, she was pissed at the school for letting her kid get sunburned.😀
