Yep. Gun owners are citizens. Those who do not own firearms are subjects.

Yup. That makes a whole lot of sense. If I don't own guns then I am both a victim and a subject. I guess then when you disobey a law you don't like, you shot the cop that comes to your door b/c your not a subject.:disgust:

I saw someone the other day with an excellent sig:

There are 4 boxes to use in the defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, ammo. Use in that order. Starting now.

If you don't understand the need for that last box, then you are indeed a subject.

If you think having a gun in your glove compratment does anything for 'defense of liberty' You are in idiot.

Ohh and BTW. I did serve, and you sound like anyone of too many dangerous brainwashed fools that consantly made me nervous.

Dang... which thread was it that had the rednecks in the truck, following a guy in a BMW constantly hurling insults at him and his GF, until finally the BMW driver stops and the redneck and his son were about to beat him with baseball bats - but the driver pulled a gun on 'em.

"Aw heck, we wuz just havin' fun..."

I was angry for an hour watching that display of human travesty. Sadly, it's the moronic "tough guys" who often prevail because "nice" people follow those pesky "human values" and "laws".

Oy...... Pity life doesn't require an IQ test. ;)

Oh boy, another ignorant fool. I already said having a gun in the glovebox was not a good idea. If you had an attention span longer than a three year old you'd know that.

The portion of the thread I was responding to was the typical debate about any gun owernship and the fact that freaks like you think all guns should be simply banned.

But being an ignorant fool, you can't be expected follow a conversation, much less a logical thought process.

Whether a person should own a gun, depends on their faith in the own judgement and reactions. I have often carried a gun, in the past, but have never pulled one on anybody, much less shot them. Some people do not have the self control to trust themselves. For these people, they are better off learning karate. They may still get themselves in trouble, but at least they may not kill someone that they shouldn't have.

I'm quoting w/out having read past the first page, but me and my father just had a big conversation about this.
If you don't own a gun, how can you protect yourself? All the criminals have guns that are stolen and/or unregistared, so they are not thinking or caring of consequences/traceablity of the firearm. So if we gave up our right to bare arms we would be at the mercy of thugs & terriorists, and we too would become criminals if we did stand up for ourselfs.
This is arguable all day, and is a no win situation. But what happen'd in NewOrleans will make you change your mind. People turning into animals. Its not a Ethnicity thing, but easily turns into one... if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck. *shrugs*

All I'm saying is that today we don't necessarily need to follow some lame decision made in the 1700s.

Having the right to own a gun is one of the principals America was founded on, just the same as the right to freedom of speech, free press, freedom of religion, etc.

What if it is decided that athiests cause problems so everyone must practice Christianity? It's decided that freedom of religion is a "lame decision made in the 1700's". Or people can get hurt from freedom of speech, people have feelings and sometimes people say mean things that can hurt other people... maybe we should get rid of freedom of speech because that is a "lame decision made in the 1700's". I mean, come on! Times change.... people change...!

What if it were decided that Christians caused problems, so everyone had to be atheists? Freedom of religion, includes your rights to be an atheist also.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

I'm hardy a gun nut. I own a rifle that I shoot at the range and a shotgun that I shot clay pigeons with from time to time.

Be serious, they intended people to be able to own a gun so they could form militias and protect themselves from invasion, do we need to do that in our present time? No.

The constitution can be changed for a reason, times change.

Now I know were to go when I need a Constitutional lawyer and one of the founding fathers. Just hit the ATOT forum.

Yikes!!! Don't say that!

The antiquated 2nd Amendment is the only leg these wackos have to stand on. After all reason has failed, they always come back to that. They'll defend it to their last breath, or bullet.

Yeah I know. Stupid rights granted to the US. Free speech? it's been around too long.. change that antiquated amendment.

You had a point? You're right, I missed it. But then you missed mine also

Yea, I had a point. It was that if someone feels the second amendment is old and 'lame' because it was made in the 1700's then how about if it was decided that freedom of religion/speech is old and 'lame' because it was also put in the constitution in the 1700's. What if eveyone was forced to be athiest or were only allowed to say nice things about the president? What I said had nothing to do with being pro-Christian/Muslim/athiest... nothing to do with religion at all, if you think it did then I think you should re-read my post. All I did was make a hypothetical example.

The times change, but the need for personal arms hasn't. Home invasion and crime is a greater problem now, than when the amendment was written. As far as an invasion on the national scale, that is not out of the question either. There shall be a time when people put down their weapons, but not until the Lord returns.

SlowSpyder,

Thank you for clarifying, for I did not perceive your meaning. It's not always easy to understand the written words, without body language, tone or smilies. That being said, I really don't like smilies anyway.

This is extremely scary speech. I have a hard time comprehending that there are people out there that actually think that the bill of rights is something that "changes with the times". You know there are places on earth that are like that they are called communist states.

Everything is equal. No economic growth. No individuality. YUK.........

Go USA!!!!!!!

Oh yeah to quote someone?
"Happiness is a warm gun................................"

Hunting isnt a sport...it's an activity.

If you think a foreign country wouldn't try to invade the United States once they knew we were disarmed, then you better think again. Just watch Red Dawn and it will lay it out on the line for you to see. That would be a text book scenario of an unanticipated invasion from a foreign country.

I bet you don't know why Japan didn't try to attack the homeland of the US during WWII. Give up? Japan knew that they couldn't invade the mainland of the US because they knew that half of the country's citizens had arms to bear, and they knew that they could not successfully win in that situation.

Dictionary.com

sport - an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.

I'm not sure how that affects the argument one way or the other though

Hey douchebag. First off I never said people shouldn't own guns ( I have several myself) BUT there should be restrictions on them AND that you don't need to own a gun to be a citizen. But, its not my fault your dumb ass can't read or "follow a conversation". I guess I am just a 'freak.' Who's the ignorant fool? God I love the retards that hope on the internet.
