we were talking about roadrage a week ago and he happened to mention that people were so crazy that they keep guns in their glove compartment and I was like :confused:.

Do you think it's unreasonable to keep a pistol in your glove compartment? I've always considering owning a few guns of my own but it seems like my dad would look down upon that...

It is a little extreme to keep a gun in the glove compartment, but if you want to, then I feel that you have the right to do so.

Hunting is a reason, whether you do it or not some people really enjoy the sport.

I wasn't speaking about all reasons for owning a gun. Just commenting on his desire to keep one in his glove compartment.

I think it's fine to own a gun for hunting or shooting in a range.

But, if you think you need a gun for self protection, you're probably paranoid.

Gun ownership in general is very worthwhile.

Getting a gun just for your glovebox is completely retarded... there's absolutely no case where you'll be legally able to use the gun, unless you get a CHL, in which case you'll be educated about exactly why glovebox guns are retarded...

1. paranoia
2. nuclear holocaust
3. protection
4. hunting-->you know, in case food supply is low
5. paranoia
6. skill--->just for the mere fact that I'm a marksmen
7. killing hobos in spare time
8. killing hippies in spare time
9. making swiss cheese
10. In case there is pandamonium like in the case of katrina where it was basically FFA---> Protection.

There's a 357 in my glovebox in case someone does something stupid. I find it's pretty good peace of mind.

Both PAB and goku think that it's a good idea to have a gun in their glovebox. I have never heard of a more compelling argument toward the stupidity of a viewpoint.

Unless you are a highly trained professional, a gun in your car is not likely to help you. You'd be better off with body armor and running shoes.
If you are trained and are well practiced then it may be of some benefit to you some day. (in a car)

I see no problem with responsible, law abiding citizens owning guns of even the assault weapon variety.

Guns in cars - it's all about penetration. You need something that you can hide on/near your seating position, that way, when the jacker sticks a 9mm in your face, you look suprised while you're shooting him through the door.

If you're stuck in traffic and see you a crime being committed, you might be able to deter it if you have access to a firearm.
