My Computer Is Pissing Me off!

When I boot it up, it loads, but takes an awful long time. It would load to the desktop, but all my startup programs would take a couple minutes to load up. Then I get this stupid message box saying that MSN Messenger can't start up, and it askes me if I want to Send the report to Microsoft or not, you know, I'm sure you guys have got that message before using Windows XP Pro. Then when I try to open up IE or use other programs, it takes forever to load and sometimes, it would just freeze for no reason and I have to do a hard reboot. I tried repairing XP but that didn't fix it either. This happened not once, but three freaking times. I reinstalled XP Pro everytime, and it's getting on my nerves.

If you've reformatted your hard drive for those reinstalls, then you may have a hardware issue.

If you hadn't reformatted, I was gonna talk about viruses, spyware and disabling error reporting and messenger.

did you do anything (change settings, new hardware), or notice anything else right before this started?

Uhm... What? This is so much crap it's hard to know where to begin, so I won't...

Try checking your RAM with memtest, as someone mentioned. Also maybe check your heat situation. Make sure your heatsink is firmly and correctly attached to your CPU. Maybe also try your hard drive manufacturer's utility to check your drive(s). Either on a floppy that came in the box, or else download it from the website. This seems to be a hardware, rather than software, problem.

Maybe, instead of speaking in riddles (or gibberish is probably better) and going on with "consiracy theory-like" rants; "I would like to tell you the name of the process but i just can't", WTH is that? The Microsoft Stasi doesn't really exist. No one is going to coming knocking on your door to throw you in prison for bad-mouthing MS (or mentioning some alleged "process that can not be named").

Instead of conspiracy theories, maybe try coming up with facts to back up whatever point you are trying to make.

Furthermore, we can't follow your advice (even if it were remotely sound) as it is barely in English, and completely impossible to understand. There is certainly at least one person in this very thread who does not seem to "know their @$$ from a hole in the ground"...

Hmm, been reading this forum for years, but only joined last month?

Zinn2b, even if your native language is NOT English, that is no excuse for your total lack of grammar.

Aside from the content (or lack thereof) of your diatribe, is it any wonder why noone is taking you seriously?

my thoughts exactly when reading the topic.

i guess my suggestion would be to do a reformatting of your hd and do a clean install. this is of course after you've troubleshooted all your hardware.

Totally correct in what, exactly? You haven't told us anything. You have given us a grand total of zero facts. There is no actionable information in your posts. You have ranted about a mysterious un-namable proccess. You gave nothing for anyone to look for. I can see 25 processes running here on my work machine. Shall I start guessing about the mysterious evil process that the Microsoft Secret Police don't want discussed? Oh, and one that they "planted" so as to make surfing the internet difficult (as I manage to translate your posts, that's what I gather...?).

I don't care how much money you spend on Microsoft products, that is not a valid indicator of anything of anything other than that you buy Microsoft products. It's hardly difficult to spend "thousands" of dollars on Microsoft software in any event. Buy Office 2003 twice and you've spent $1000. I spend hundreds of dollars on Diet Coke per year. I don't claim to be some expert on Diet Coke. Also, if what you said were true, we would have heard about it long before you came along to inform us that there is a super-secret process blocking access to the internet that was placed on some computers by Microsoft. There are websites (or at least one) that go about and spend their time figuring out what each proccess does. Chances are very good your "mystery proccess" would have been discovered and we'd all have heard about it. And since you choose to provide no solid information because of your fear of "pissing Microsoft off"
rolleye.gif
you give yourself zero credability. Give us some facts, a proccess name, documented cases of this issue, an incriminating email from Bill Gates, a note on a cocktail napkin. Anything that lends even one iota of credability to your rants would help. Your supposed attempt to help doesn't, since you give nothing for the original poster to look for or verify.

Try Spybot and an antivirus check, in addition to the previously recommended memtest86 and prime95. And give the hard drive a full surface scan too.
