1.My first question, my psu was given to me for free from a friend without a manual but with all the screws and a rail, I was wondering if anyone knew a website that has detailed pictures on installing a psu like that? and in the case specs under the power supply section it says : N/A, does that meen it fits all types of psu's?

*remember* I do not know alot about computers so please try and explain the easiest way.

do not order than mobo and cpu and are you going to oc?

get a socket 939 a64 i would say and yes that powersupply is pretty bad i i would get another one. if you are going to oc i think you are going to need to get some better ram.

if you are gonig to get a socket 754 than get the dfi nf3 250g with like a mobile processor 3000 or 3200 and oc it.

What do you mean when you say the PSU came with a "rail"? Most PSUs you would just line up with the holes in the back of the case and screw it in. Look at the 5th picture of the case in the Newegg link (of the rear of the case) to see the holes I'm referring to.

Also, that PSU will fit into the case. "N/A" means that the case does not come with its own power supply.

Was gonna tell ya the "rail" as you call it is for screwing the PSU to the ceiling of the case if this applies to the particular case.

OK I put my rosewill cd drive into the case and it asks me to:

A. Set the jumper to master device if your optical internal drive is the only device which connects to secondary IDE port.

or

B. set the jumper to slave device if your optical internal drive will be connected to primary/secondary IDE port.

So what does IDE meen, and how do I know which one to set it as?

If the rosewill is the ONLY optical drive in your case set the jumper on it to "master" and connect it via IDE ribbon/round cable (which ever you use) to the primary IDE port on your mobo.

plugging the case into the motherboard thos little black plugs that say like, speaker, mic, etc. then theres a plug that says vcc but there is nothing on the mobo that has a place for a vcc, so i was wondering do i need it or not?

That's the power switch (if that wasn't obvious from the fact that the wires from it go to the power switch!). You'll need it if you want to turn on the PC. :p

VCC is electrical engineering shorthand for the power supply voltage. I'm uncertain as to why the power switch is labelled like this, but it often is. :p

Edit: I know you asked for people to not do this, but I just want to reiterate that you should really, really get a name-brand PSU. Installing a junker like that "Powertek" in your system is just asking for trouble.

Hmm... that's possible, too.

OP, why don't you just look at what it's connected to? That would be a heck of a lot easier than us trying to guess. :p

Ok I am dont plugging the cases components into the motherboard but i have 3 cords left over one says "1394" on it another says + on it, and the last one says - on it, but the last two are sorta connected, so I was wondering do I need those last ones or not? I cant tellw hat theyre to because the wires are like hidden in the front of the case.
