Klee....you shouldn't be on the road. You knew you were playing games with here and there was no reason for it. I now fear for myself knowing that your out there driving around somewhere.

way to keep calm and collective during the rage...that pisses em off even more!!

That's all it was meant to be... silly and entertaining (to me at least, and at the Jetta driver's expense:p).

I had a run in today with an angry woman Jetta driver. So we're at a light side by side. I'm on the right; she's on the left; and there are no marked lanes. So the 2 of us should legally be able to go straight. When I pull up to her right side, she motioned me asking if i was going straight and indicated that my lane shouldn't go straight, which is moronic bullsh!t on her part.

I think right there is where you are wrong. There are NO lanes marked, no lines marking oncoming traffic lane from your direction? Just one big open paved road with no lines huh? I doubt that. I'm betting there was yellow in the middle separating the directions of traffic. Also, You clearly state it's one lane road past the intersection. Yet there's no 'merge sign or lane'. I'm betting it was one lane before you got there... which is why there's no merge lane because you ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO MERGE when there's only one lane to begin with. Just because the lane is very wide doesn't mean it's unmarked two lanes. At best it's wide like that so people can turn right, or possibly room for them to park by the curb.

How many cars did you pass behind her to pull up next to her (it was rush hour you said)? Even if none, it doesn't change the fact that it was a one lane road. Most people who pull up next to you like that probably turn right. But you were sitting their waiting patiently for the light to change and she knew you were going straight and planning to cut her off (or the car behind her). She was (most likely) right that it was a one lane road.

What you did was make use of a WIDE SINGLE lane to cut in front of traffic. She was rightfully upset w/ you. Unfortunately, she's not the law so her getting out and doing what she did was equally bad in my opinion. But you were wrong too, I'm willing to bet on that.
dman, you make many very good points, none that I disagree with. Did I fail to mention that I drive like an aggressive jackass? Did I mention that I live in NJ? I guess I didn't. Well I'm a jackass and the Jetta driver is a moron. I can live with that.

So, you admit you were wrong?
Yes.

Cool. As long as we all agree.

<--have done what you've done. So I can't really complain. Although I'm a much more courteous driver now than when I was younger... everyonceinawhile I find I have some instinct to relive my youth.

Only time I experienced Road Rage attack, being the driver, was merging onto a highway. I was traveling east on a city-road and made a left onto the onramp. That same onramp has an entrance from the westbound lane, but, there is a Merge/Yield sign there, so, folks getting on from eastbound with the signal have the right of way.

One day I'm all alone and made that left turn rather spiritedly when a guy in a 1.5ton of some sort blew through the merge and cut me off. I stepped on brakes and gave him the horn and some other gestures to thank him for that.

WE get on the highway and the guy in the truck is CERTAIN he's correct. Wants me to pull over so he can explain it to me. Uh Uh. Just waved him on. Next time he goes through there he might realize he was the A-Hole and not me... but even if not, it's just driving. Nobody got hurt. Life goes on.

*high-fives TJN23* Heh. You see my situation exactly as how I do. :)

And Busie23, I don't anticipate ever driving anywhere near the Cleveland area, so you have nothing to fear. Anyone driving in the Tri-State area on the other hand....;)

Heh j/k.

Cool. Same here about being a "reformed" road rager. Quoting an earlier post of mine in this thread:

I am not generally a tailgater. I used to be though when I was younger. I used to be a typical road rager and tailgate people's asses if they did anything so mere as cut in front of me or not yield to me. I've pretty much outgrown that and tonight's incident is really an exception for me. That lady was asking for it.:D

lol that's how everyone is in NJ, NY and even PA

they drive all aggressively. If you don't you won't get anywhere. With all the aggressive driving, i doubt it surprise anyone that road rage is a daily occurrence.

glad nothing happened to you. atleast you knew the odds were against you and stayed in. You should carry around pepper spray or something. She had no reason to come out of her car and start hitting your window. You just open up a lil bit and spray baby spray~ ;)

Az, I understand you are more of a straight-laced, good-hearted person than I am. In my story, I know I was up to no good and mischief but that's it. I didn't mean any harm to the Jetta driver and don't actually wish her any ill-will at all. From my point of view, she stirred things up with me and I just retaliated by riling her and her adult daughter up, which I found very entertaining because she basically asked for it. Perhaps if you regard it in that light, you can find some humor in my story.:) Cheers!

Bahahaha

Thanks isekii for backing me up. It only makes sense that only another NJ/PA'er would truly understand where I'm coming from.:D

I go through it daily driving to Newark ^_^

I dont carry around a mace or pepper spray. I have several sporting goods that I carry around. (3-iron, 7-9 iron of course for going out to the range)
Noone really starts with me tho. One did come flying out of the on ramp going like 20 pulling out in front of me while i was doing 70ish on I80.

Gave him a nice bird and went on my merry way.
