I don't get it. What's the big deal about being tailgated? If the person in front stops suddenly and the person behinds hits them, it's the fault of the person who rear-ended the person in front for following too closely.
That's true which is why if and when I tailgate (which is rare that I do nowadays), I do it verrrry carefully with my foot covering the brake and my eyes carefully glued to the tail lights of the car in front of me, since I'm aware the liability is all on me.

I hate people that tailgate me, but I do it to morons that don't know how to drive. Double standard, hell yes. Anyways, I'll usually apply the emegency brakes instead of the real brakes because that doesn't give the people behind any notice.

Good Job! Women who put themselves in situations like this have to be psycho, I mean that?s really aggressive behavior for a woman, A smart woman would never put herself into a potential jackpot with a man. Bah, dam beotches don't they know the roads belong to us! did I say that out loud? Whoops I guess I'm showing my gender bias.

Wouldn't applying the emergency brake put a lot stress on your tire ?

Whatever bias you're showing, it doesn't really apply to my situation considering both parties were female. Heh.

Why did you get so pissed off when all the other driver did was try to be helpful to you at the beginning of the whole thing?

Hmm.

I must not have conveyed myself clearly enough in my post because the other driver was far from "helpful" in the beginning. She motioned that I shouldn't be allowed to go straight when I was in an unmarked lane. Anyone can go straight. She also had a very belligerent attitude in her looks and gestures. *shrug*

He said that they were side by side at a light and that the other driver tried to tell him that his lane was for right turns only, I'm assuming. It sounds like she was just trying to be help him out and he got pissed off about it.

When I pull up to her right side, she motioned me asking if i was going straight and indicated that my lane shouldn't go straight, which is moronic bullsh!t on her part.

I think right there is where you are wrong. There are NO lanes marked, no lines marking oncoming traffic lane from your direction? Just one big open paved road with no lines huh? I doubt that. I'm betting there was yellow in the middle separating the directions of traffic. Also, You clearly state it's one lane road past the intersection. Yet there's no 'merge sign or lane'. I'm betting it was one lane before you got there... which is why there's no merge lane because you ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO MERGE when there's only one lane to begin with. Just because the lane is very wide doesn't mean it's unmarked two lanes. At best it's wide like that so people can turn right, or possibly room for them to park by the curb.

How many cars did you pass behind her to pull up next to her (it was rush hour you said)? Even if none, it doesn't change the fact that it was a one lane road. Most people who pull up next to you like that probably turn right. But you were sitting their waiting patiently for the light to change and she knew you were going straight and planning to cut her off (or the car behind her). She was (most likely) right that it was a one lane road.

What you did was make use of a WIDE SINGLE lane to cut in front of traffic. She was rightfully upset w/ you. Unfortunately, she's not the law so her getting out and doing what she did was equally bad in my opinion. But you were wrong too, I'm willing to bet on that.

I agree... unless where you pulled up beside her was marked as 2 lanes, then you were illegally passing her. Two of my pet peeves are tailgating and when people try to pass me that way. (ever since an accident when a lady tried to pass me quickly and sideswiped me). So, I brake for tailgaters (well, actually it was the little dog that ran in front of me). And, if someone tries to pass me illegally, I'll run them right off the road. I too have quick reaction speed at lights.

I agree, drivers that do this bug the hell out of me, it's basically saying "I'm far more important than all the other cars already in front of me and I'm going to cut in front of all these other cars that choose to actually follow the rules of the road."

That said, these women were way wrong to do the whole stop and block the road, get out and initiate a confrontation thing.

And do people really find entertainment in annoying and aggravating other people for no reason but their own enjoyment?

I'm sorry, but I fail to see the humor of your story. You drove agressively and then you tailgated her. :disgust::confused:
