Why? I really have no idea.. His litter isn't in such bad shape so there doesn't appear to be a reason for him doing this. I closed the door, he opened it, slept on my bed (I was away) and he peed on it. This isn't his first time, why would he do this?

Possible urinary tract infection, cats want to pee on something soft because it hurts to pee.

he might be ill.

cats usually ALWAYS go in the litter. unless the litter is dirty, or if they are ill. it is not common for cats to pee anywhere else for spite.

take the cat to the vet.

Skin the cat, problem solved. Or if you dont want to do that, pick it up from the tail and swing it around and slam it into the wall next time you catch it peeing on your down comforter.

Is he "fixed"? Lots of male cats "mark their territory" similar to a dog if they're not fixed. I had a cat who, prior who having the vet go snip-snip on him, shot a stream of urine right into the cone of an expensive B&W speaker. He also urinated on top of the dining table, and when outdoors he shot a stream at the rim on my car. If your cat is spraying, it will have an odor more foul than normal urine. That could be the case.. if your cat is in heat...

before doing that, I like to try shoveling out your eyeballs with a rusty spoon dipped in the cat's fecal matter. Then I'll let the cat skullfvck you.

that or how old is he?
my cat is going on 14 or 15 years now and he pisses on stuff a lot. i don't know if its old age, he doesn't know where he is or what. he seems pretty healthy and everything otherwise. he's still pretty frisky and active for how old he is.

We used to have a cat that loved to go into my room, sleep on my bed and then pee on it. It was a really shy cat, so I don't know if it would go into my room and hide in there from people and not want to come out or what, but it really sucked. I'm allergic to cats, too, so I'd get all itchy from the cat hair from it sleeping on my bed.

I'd do as other posters recommended and take the cat to the vet.

Believe it or not, but he IS FIXED. Thats why the "territory" thing seems like bull to me.

If that cat did it once, ok, it was an accident....if it happened all the time, there would be no more cat. i wouldn't do anything inhumane to it, i would just take it out with me when I went shotgun shooting and accidently have it run in front of my gun...quick and painless.

Unneutered male or ill, the strongest possiblities.

But cats HAVE sometimes been known to pee for spite.

HaHaHa, yea right.

Cats piss all about the house, while cat lovers/owners overlook it, all the while pointing to the sporadicly used litter box as proof of the the contrary.

Have cat indoors = have indoors smell of cat piss.

I'm thinking it's possible he is peeing for spite, hes 4 years old... What really pisses me off though is one time I let him in my room after his continuous b!tching about wanting to come in, he comes in and after a while he goes on the bed and begins to pee on it, I see it at the corner of my eye and I toss him out. the nerve....

Heres how you fix it... skin it alive. Then make boots out of its hide. If you cant tell, i hate cats.

My cat was fixed as a kitten and is now 10 years old. He has always sprayed to mark his territory (fortunately it's almost always been outdoors, he's only done it about 3 times indoors over the years). The thing that's kind of nasty is that he has taken to humping my daughter's stuffed animals and pillows. WTF? At least he ALWAYS either goes outside or uses the litterbox. He's never had an accident indoors.

Then you obviously neutered him too late if he humps things.. My cousin's dogs do that all the time, although it's actually the b!tch that does it and not the male :Q My cat has never done it.
