Some cats will come down on their own, but some cats have been known to stay up a tree for days. They get too scared to come down and end up dehydrated and/or falling out and getting injured.

I'd call someone.

Who do I call, though?
Ghostbusters!

Cats come down by themselves. They don't get stuck.

I had a cat that got freaked out and climbed 30ft up a tree and sat there meowing for hours. I just let him sit there and he walked back inside the front door later that night.

it will come down when it gets hungry. it's just enjoying being up there and the mewing is that you'll APPRECIATE that it's up there. which you are. behavior reinforced. my kitty does the same thing all the time. just let him be.

I asked an animal expert friend of mine your question, here's the response.

Well.....depends on how old the cat is. The cat is capable of climbing back down. If the cat eats dry food, I would take the bag of food on the balcony and shake the bag, calling her name. Also if the owner is scared the cat will be scared, so she must remain calm. If the cat does not come down, animal control can help if they can get a catch pole and help her, alot of animal services are good about that.

Save game. Exit. Edit ini, set gravity to -1 and restart. reload save game. Cat should climb up, which is now down. Reverse procedure to set things back to 'normal'.

Cats LOVE tuna.

If it doesn't come down with it you'll atleast be able to grab another hungry neighborhood cat. :p

I had a cat stuck up a tree once.

I climbed WAY WAY up the tree, grabbed the cat, sustained various lacerations, climbed down the tree, walked to with in 15 feet of my house and dropped the cat.

The cat immediately climbed ANOTHER tree, this one unbeknown to me was covered with LONG sharp THORNS, I climbed THIS tree, sustaining numerous punctures, retrieved the cat AGAIN and dropped it to the ground (10 feet or so) before I could get out of the tree, it had climbed another one.

It STAYED THERE!!!

It eventually DID come down on it's own. SO will yours.

Epilogue: Two days later my left nut swelled to the size of a cantaloupe. (from something on the thorn's of the tree I assume.) I now have a DOG, and it NEVER climbs trees!

Finally the voice of reason.....another vote for animal control. That advice took too many replys. Come on people.
