<< My '98 Chevy Cavalier crossed the 100,000 mile marker a few weeks ago.

My '91 Chevy Cavalier had appx. 223,000 miles on it when I traded it in for the '98.

I hope the '98 lasts as long as the '91.

Congrats!! 😀

How the hell do you put 100k miles on a '98 model car??? Do you drive to the moon and back???

RossMAN about your window locking...my friend's '88 Camry has similar problems..we opened up the box with the buttons and tried cleaning the contacts..didn't work...well it kinda did..
>>

I've put over 30,000 miles on it since I got it last February. 😱

I drove from Alabama to VA Beach and back. My husband puts 300 miles on it every weekend just driving back and forth to work.

We are both in college and it's 20 miles (one way) to the college from our house.

I tried to take a picture of the odometer on my Jeep when it reached 123456.78 miles. Couldn't stop though. The Jeep is still ticking at 180000+ miles.

<< Yes it still runs great except for the passenger's side UNLOCK ALL button doesn't unlock all the doors like it should. The weird thing is the LOCK ALL still works but the UNLOCK ALL does not.

How much would this cost to fix?
>>

No, it shouldn't be much. Most cars have access to the door's innards without taking the door off. If you're lucky, you'll have a car, like my mom's, that you have to take the door off in order to work on the door's interworkings. That, unfortunately, required the removal of the front quarter panel as well to get the door off. That was expensive.

My 1993 Honda Accord EX has 204,000 miles on it and still runs like a champ, original engine, transmission and most of the parts.
Conversely, my friend has a 1989 Ford Tempo with 6,700 Miles on it!
Keep em runnin!

<< bah, finally broken in >>

Yeah. If you keep taking good care of 'er, you should be good for another 150-200k. 🙂

<< You're supposed to change your oil every 3 months or 3000 miles. Going over 4000 miles w/o a change will ensure you many costly trips to the garage. >>

Uh huh....ever heard of synthetic? And all decent newer cars say 5k in their manuals...

I dont evem do oil changes, maybe once every 6 months..I put a quart a week in mine...yikes.

The old Bronco has just passed 144k..still kickin strong, bolted onto a new tranny 😀

GooberPHX420 is right.

On newer models the manuals suggest having the oil changed every 5,000 miles unless you travel in special conditions.

Special Conditions include:

Do most of your driving on dirt or unpaved roads
Do most of your driving on city roads where you are driving below 45 all the time (such as taxi or delivery serivce)

<< Dude, stop spitting on your steering wheel when you're yelling at bad drivers. 😉 >>

It was raining when I took the picture dude :Q

My 93 sentra has around 146,600 miles on it and it's running like a champ *knocks on wood*. Not having car payments kicks ass.

Unless you're racing your car for all its miles getting the oil changed every 3000 miles is a total waste of money. If the manual on a car recommends 5000 you can be damn sure that is erring on the side of safety. 3 months/3000 miles is what I hear from jiffy lube on the commercial.

Now if you're running synthetic you can run even longer though you may want the oil filter changed out with reasonable frequency.

<< yawn... my 95 geo metro has 250,000 mi and still runs >>

That takes a lot of courage to admit you own a Metro.

So True~

Well knowing you, you probably have 6 or 7 other cams laying around still in the box 🙂...

Last year my sister gave me a 92 Corolla (for free 😀) which now has 85,000 on it.... she felt it was an unreliable beater... it's not... the interior lights don't work... the instrument panel does but not the rest... but that's the ONLY problem.... her hubbies rich so I think it was just an excuse to buy an SUV...whatever...free car gooooood.

Actually I do have a Fuji Finepix 1400 laying around, need to find the box/manuals/CDs and eBay it.

Also I pre-ordered a Canon PowerShot S200 and might pre-order an S330 not sure though.
