my car is now lowered! yeah!!!

well, it was a fair trade off. it was a 1.5 inch drop with the Eibach Sportsline and KYB GR2 shocks. Bodyroll has reduced quite dramatically and so did the ride comfort. The ride is noticably harsher: uneven pavement and minor potholes can be spine-shattering.

now my question is, is all this because the GR2 shocks' 'valve rate' do not match with the spring's 'spring rate' ?

Lower car means less wheel travel which means harsher ride. Lowering shocks are also stiffer to help make up for the reduced amount of wheel travel.

i never drive a lowered car before, so why not. I don't have a family here in LA so I don't get b1tch at if the ride comfort is down the toilet.

that's cool i guess. I always thought it was stupid when you see those guys who lower their trucks to about 1" off the ground. It kind of defeats the purpose of a truck

you'll get used to it eventually. even though my acura rsx-s isn't lowered by much and has a nasty 2" gap, its suspension is rather very stiff. so i know what you are talking about when you say "harsher ride." at first i was kinda disliking it, but the harsher ride provides more feel for the road and hugs along the road for better, sharper turns, without the body roll and less swaying as well. w00t. rice is not putting performance parts in your car. rice is when you put external mods to make your car seem fast to others, when you know that the true circumstance is that your vehicle is slower with such external mods (weight gain). so since your car looks stock cosmetically outside, you're good to go. just don't go put a NISMO decal on your civic... with a GT-R in the front to boot. now that is RICE.

No, but I can tell you that you'll be replacing the GR-2's in about 1-2 years tops.
GR-2's are OEM replacements not built to handle stiffer, aftermarket spring rates.
