That's messed up dude. Don't ridicule her. She just decided it was the last straw and was planning to buy a new car anyway. Can't you be happy for her? Sheesh!! You don't see others blasting her about it....

.. and im not being stupid about this, there was no point in replacing the battery/starter or whatever if i was getting a new car anyways.

Yeah, but the trade. For a running car you should get about 500 bucks.

in order to get a safety it would need over a grand in body work anyways. plus it only runs sometimes.

Congrats on your new car. I hope you haggled the hell out of the dealer, they like to take advantage of women (IE: your comment about fully loaded probably means you paid too much). Anywho, enjoy it!

LIKE BETTER THAN EVER.

WTF?!

Heh, my girlfriends mom's '83 Camry had this problem..

Sometimes you could sit there and it would just click for 10 minutes, sometimes it would start right up..

i'm depressed.
i don't want a new car. i want my car.

i know my car doesn't always start, my car's transmission doesn't always switch over and almost kills me, i know my car shakes so bad it almost explodes on the hiways, i know my car doesn't have heat anymore, i know the body has gone to hell so bad that i look like a wellie driving it..

but its mine and i love it.

Then for the ~$100 you'll get for it just keep it and let it sit in the driveway😛

we only have room for three cars!
waah

$100 to get rid of an old car you hate is OK in my book. That?s what I got for my 1966 Mustang 289 convert in 1972. The car was really dead electrically but looked good as long as you didn?t notice the rusty floor in the passenger foot well. I fixed the hole with sheet aluminum and tar.

The car had over 250,000 miles on it. It got me through HS and College and I was glad to see it go. An auto mechanic bought it for his wife and she loved it. And I got to drive and race my new 72 V6 Capri.

that's just cruel. no one deserves a k-car, not even mass-murderers.

AHAHAHAHAHAAA 😀

You bastard, you almost made me spill my soda.

Most men would pick their choices, and then weigh them for a week before making a decision. Here, you've gone from a "dead" car to a new car in less than 24 hours.. LOL!
Haha, quite right.
he funny part is that they will spend hours or take even weeks to decide whether they should buy a certain watch or clothing item
I know!!

It sounds like a POS, but I still maintain that if it's in running shape when you get rid of it you can get more than if it's not. $100 seems too little for a car thta even runs most of the time. And if it costs you $1k to get it up to safety spec it may cost somebody else less, or they may not care. I bet you can get several hundred for it at least!

Anyway good pick on the car 🙂

Damn man you drove 250,000 miles in 6 years? :Q

I now own a 2000 black hyundai elantra fully loaded

Those are neat cars....WTG.

Good ridance to a wore out Stanza...LOL.

I know how you feel. I hate having trouble with a car. I have given them away before myself just to quit having to deal with their problems.

Sorry for the late reply.

Yes, Michigan winters are bad with all the salt on the roads. Every part time job I got needed a car (florist & pizza delivery, home & life insurance inspector, delivered circus tickets for the county sheriffs) so that?s how I put 1/4 million miles on it in 6 years. Gas was only about $0.35/gal then.

I also wore out an engine and trans plus countless tires and water pumps. Outside of the hole in the floor the interior and top looked good as new. Had to replace the rear glass twice though.

I know all about the K car. It's a fine example of a car I wouldn't drive no matter how fast it was. :Q
