http://www.fourtitude.com/news/publish/Audi_News/article_7393.shtml

We are both heading out to Colorado and have to leave our cars behind two weeks :(.

It's a really really nice looking and outfitted car.

Not as visceral as the M3, but not as dull as others.

Really nice cruiser.

I think its time to close this thread as its become nothing more than catty BS...

Nothing productive is coming of this bickering so cut the "troll" comments as well...

undoubtedly the M3, S5 4.2 is only ~350hp IIRC.
the RS5 would be closer.

Exactly. Everyone likes to compare the S5 to the M3 (E9x). Or A5 to 335i.

BTW, E92 M3 did 8:05
S5 did 8:26
335i did same as S5

Can't find the RS5

Isn't the S5 in the OP a 4.2 special edition? The S5 lap time you posted isn't remotely the same engine, I think at least.

Engine is the same.

It is actually much slower than the engine that has gone into the 3.0T after the EPC reprogram. That will do 420hp/420torque and still be warrantied.

The 3.0T S4 engine is much better than the V8 out of the S5.

I can't see why anyone would buy this product with the new car right around the corner.

Yeah, he got one of the 1xx special edition. The RS5 is a different car, but still more a cruiser at heart.

Because he practically stole it.

Cool story, I would rather drive a car I like than pay less for a car I don't want...especially when there is a better one three months away.

He did like the car...there is always something new around the corner.

I don't like the E90/92 M3 so I went with the nicest 2006 (25k miles) I could find.

If you had the choice, 2012 550xi Dinan Stage 1 or 2013 Audi S6?

I love the car. Massive V10. Fast. But I know a guy that had to spend $30,000 in 2 years on his S6. One thing after another.

Weird, I have replaced the rotors twice. Two sets of tires and a set of winters. Otherwise just normal maintenance, at 49000 miles. I bought the extended warrant until 72000, however I'm just thinking about something new.

I probably have paid 10,000 all toll, with the extended warranty.

Still I am consdering the BMW.

I should probably just start a new thread...

What's funny tonight is he had the same issue I had with my car...a couple weeks in and a flat. :(

We are all at a meet and greet tonight, I am home now but still answering things.

The interesting conversation tonight was he was confused why turning his media knob left didn't make the scroll bar go down and when turning it right, up.

I told him he was sitting on the wrong side of the car. :) It's logical then.

I will say this the Audi roadside assistance is awesome. We all headed out at the same time. He was only 30 mins behind us.

I still believe the S5 is the sexiest car on the road right now....
