I can tell you all how this will end. It's so obvious.

Favre will chuck up a ball for an interception during the playoffs, successfully ending his team's season.

Hasn't he done that the past 3 years?

I don't see how he's a whiner. He had to go back to the Packers before they could release him. Since they obviously don't want him, just release him and let him play for another team.

Better than not making the playoffs at all.

You know, I've always liked Favre. I've always thought of him as an amazing QB and a humble, genuinally-nice person (even though I;ve never met him). when he retired, I felt the same way. When he said he wanted to come back, I thought "well, players do it all the time. Packers owe it to him and they have a better chance of winning with him than without him".

But lately, Im begining to feel like he's just a big whiny baby who loves the attention and can;t stand being out of the spotlight.

I feel like this whole mess is tarnishing his legacy, especially if he has a bust season this year, and then retires again.

He's under contract. Why would they release him, when it's their division rivals that would most likely sign him? That would be incredibly stupid on their part - they're better off just letting him sit on the bench, if that's the game he wants to play.

Brett has been playing this stupid look at me game every offseason for years, he has now elevated it to an art form. He should of hung up the cleats a couple of seasons ago, if he plays this season he will be a liability for whoever he plays for.

I used to respect his talent, but I never liked him or considered him a great QB. He was never a team player and always a one man show (Kobe of the NFL). Now he's just a hasbeen drama queen that doesn't know when to quit.

ESPN is saying he might be going to the Bucs.

If he goes there, how many QBs does that make on the Bucs roster? 5? 6?

This would never happen, but it would be hilarious if the Bucs got him, then traded him to the Vikings.

I hereby promote Brett from Prima Donna to complete asshole. Another couple of days of this and he can challenge Barry Bonds for #1 on the Contempt-o-meter.

Never say never. Breaking news, which I can't find online verification for yet, is that Favre has been traded to the Bucs.

So he shows up and then the packers try and hide him out of sight once in GB and convince him that showing up at practice wouldn't be good for the team. This is extremely quickly becoming a case study of how not to run an organization. Matt Millen is starting to look like MVP quality after this.

The deal isn't really anywhere near that close to being done. The Jets are offering a much better deal but Favre doesn't seem interested at all in going there. The talk about the Vikings seems to be nothing but smoke from the Pack as there hasn't been any real offers made or presented. The only thing going for the Buc deal, and even in that degree its still a bit of a stretch, is that Favre actually called and talked to Gruden.

Unless Favre wants to look like a schmuck and have the Packers ride him like a wet worn out trick pony, he'll suit up and show up at Packer practice. Off the record some of the veterans wonder why he is being treated as such and the media circus generated from
Favre standing with a clipboard while Rogers throws more interceptions during practice is about the only way he will get outright cut from the team.

Given the way the current Pack leadership is acting, I'm just hoping that they lay a nice egg on the season as the roasting they'll get from the media will be oh so funny; and if yesterday's press conference was any indication McCarthy may just blow up trying to give a couple more press conferences like that.

Now that Favre has been activated, the Packers can trade him to any team they want & Favre cant do a damn thing about it.

Favre doesnt have a veto clause in his contract. Now, if he gets traded to another team he can choose to not show up essentialy vetoing the trade.
