My bf almost killed my dogs at dinner tonight

Onions, garlic, chocolate, macadamia nuts... what else can kill a dog?

Edit: Apparently a search reveals grapes too, didn't know that one.
 
He fed them half an onion and was laughing about how the little on doesn't like them and will just eat them cause the bigger on likes them. Then he checked it online and saw that it could be deadly.

Just because they didn't die right away, doesn't mean anything. The effects can take a few days.

 
I'm curious as to why he was feeding them onions in the first place? When a dog looks at me with those sad little doggie eyes asking for something to eat I just cant imagine giving him Onions.
 
Yes take them to the vet immediately and have them put down to alleviate any suffering they may suffer. I would also report your BF to the SPCA.

Well last night I made steak, and they were all over me, and I didn't want to give them any because you shouldn't be feeding dogs human food. So they were hounding me again tonight, so I thought, raw onions taste like crap, if they want human food I'll turn them off to it. So I fed them the onions. Bad idea apparently. The stupid little one which a cokcerspaniel mix. HATED the onions, but if the bigger dog is eating something he wants it too. So I would give them both some onion and the big dog would run off with a bit of it and the little one would spit out his piece, but when the big dog came back he would attack it like it was filet mignon.
 
We're going to the store to get hydrogen peroxide, apparently they'll throw the onions up that way.

YES! Their bodies can't properly break them down and fragments of the onions will get caught in their kidneys. These fragments are very sharp and will cut their kidneys from the inside constantly until their kidneys break down and stop functioning altogether. It is a VERY painful thing for a dog to go through.

Any food with traces of onions, red, yellow, green... onion powder, whatever can contain these things.

These fragments are very sharp and will cut their kidneys from the inside constantly until their kidneys break down and stop functioning altogether. It is a VERY painful thing for a dog to go through.

My ex-gf's dog ate a WHOLE xanax pill last year. He's a teeny little chihuahua and he was just sorta groggy for a few hours. *whew*

Keep an eye on your pooch and call a vet. They will tell you what to do.

WTF are you talking about this is the biggest crock of bullsh!t i have ever heard of in my life. onions can cause anemia, but 'fragments' of onions getting caught in the kidneys? are you on crack?

Heheh if your dog has a direct path from the stomach to the kidneys hes got bigger problems to worry about.
