I think out of the two of us, I am the one being the man. You're approach to discrediting my numbers here could have been a lot more mature. I thought you really wanted to find a solution, but my initial apprehension that you were just playing a game seems more accurate.
If you can explain to me HOW it is even possible that I screwed up Stalker benches, I'm all ears and willing to correct a mistake, but please don't try and take the "man up" road when you yourself are just beating around the bush with what you really mean to say but are afraid to.

Ok, here we go. You're ignored since you're just going to parrot Janoo. And I'll buy Janoo's intentions long before yours, and I have made it clear that I don't. Cough up some private benches yourself, the we'll talk. Until then, all you're doing is crapping along with janoo. I say put up, or shut up. Prove my benches wrong and I'll concede whatever mistake I could have possibly made. Go ahead, go pick up a 5870, I hear they are cheaper in Canada.

You can just use your 5870 for now. Compare yours with the tech sites and then mine. And I'm sure there are many others with a system close to mine who can also assist.

That is why if some bench with the 5870 with settings maxed one may gauge things instead of pointing fingers.

Well, i got a "free" GTX 480 from Nvidia and a "free" HD 5870 from AMD and i don't see a lot wrong with Key's benches

-- i couldn't handle the ridiculous bashing.

Keys - I am not asking for benches from OCing, but what sort of luck did you have? Just curious if you can hit 10-15% shader/clock/mem OCs comfortably or not. Is there a specific area that overclocks better than others (memory clock for example)?

You are exaggerating. Keys doesn't show 50% advantage overall

The GTX 480 is a stronger performer than the HD 5870. i am running overclocked benches with GTX 480 at 826/2200 vs. HD 5870 at 900/1300 and the GTX 480 is faster.

And not the "+10%" BS you guys are cherry picking and misquoting

it overclocks fine but will pull 300W so your better have a stable PS
- i have not touched the shaders (the OC tools are pretty new) but got 626/2200 - i believe Marc got the same OC i got

I agree. I would rather play that game on a gtx 480.

i just wanted everyone to realize that Anand's review - although nice and detailed - is by no means the last word. Keys is clearly using higher settings which favor the GTX. As i did.

i have been busy. i got the GTX 480 under NDA and had less than a week to get a full review out - INCLUDING benching 5870 (i got *two* - one sent directly from AMD - that same week!) i put 120 hours into it including writing it over 8 days.

Now i am busy overclocking and benching both GTX 480 and HD 5870 for Part 2 of my review - due next week. Part 3 is SLi vs CrossFire and then i will go down the feature list, item by item and i am SO looking forward to Eyefinity vs 2D Surround
- i manage to pick up another 1080 LCD and a 25x16; all i need is a 120Mhz 1080 display with DisplayPort and i am set.

If you really miss my emoticon overload, i am still using them - INXS - at my site

Yes that is 25x16 and i also use 4xAA + MSAA for A-tested objects and SSAO
- SLI'd 480s would be able to play it; i might be getting another one from Nvidia to test; or i will have to wait for Galaxy to send me one.

Here is 19x12 - min/av/max(i'd attach my graph charts, but my attachments are disabled)
GTX 480 - 17.9/26.5/41.5
HD 5870 - 17.7/23.2/37

16x10 Same ultra settings:
GTX 480 - 21.9/32.7/49.8
HD 5870 - 22.5/30/48.7

it also looks like it might be playable with HD 5870 CF

That is the very reason i left here. i got sick of the alternating disrespect, ridicule and accusation of lying from *both* camps. i have been spending some time at HardOCP - even with the same fanboyism, at least they have better controls on the hateful hyperbole.

i realized that almost no one actually *reads* any posts here. Their minds are welded shut - they find it impossible to believe that anyone could like and admire BOTH Nvidia and AMD.
