For some reason this has me laughing and I just cant stop. That tub water has to be so nasty by day 3, even in a clean house. I'm surprised the pump didnt clog with cat hair and bring this whole story to a catastrophic close.
At least we all got what we expected out of this thread 🙂
The hair float on top. The pump is located on the bottom. It appears to pump water just fine. No issue clogging yet. If it does, or run into catastrophic failure, I will
report. But it has already been nearly a week with no issues.
OK, let's see if I/you can follow. In post 77, I pointed out that you said you cancelled your ISP service, not internet access.
You misunderstood.
😀 I said I cancelled my ISP, meaning internet access. Internet access is the only thing I had with my ISP. Since it has been disconnected, no more internet from the company.
I never mentioned about the company-provided work phone that has internet access before you posted and made assumption...
Follow me now?
Don't get so defensive! lolz
Hey, whatever floats your boat but there is a more sensible way of doing this. First off, I have had the 1900 series and it doesn't get that hot and if your watercooling your hardware, your well within means of safe temperatures. On to this whole bathtub talk, BUY A RAD and RES, and buy quality fans that run at a decent speed that are dead silent. A RAD compared to a bathtub maybe a few degrees difference but what do those degrees really matter for a HTPC? If all honesty, doesn't mean a thing. I think your idea was cool, I honestly do. Then I saw pictures and realized your keeping it this way for at least short time. So many things can go wrong, some step on the tubing or your cat bite it and the water leaks...your gone for 8hrs to work and suddenly your living room is full of dusty, dead spider, bathwater.
The spiders learned from the mistakes and they don't get near the water now. They've got brains. I keep them alive so they can hunt for the ants. My cat doesn't chew the water tubing. She is very careful with things.
My argument here is that for the price you paid for that tubing you could have picked up a RAD and RES/PUMP for nearly the same price if you bought used.
When I was running stock air cooler on the X1950xtx card the RAMsinks were burning hot. They literally burned my fingers! But with this bathtub cooling, the RAMsinks are mild to the touch, just a few degrees hotter than ambient. It's amazing. For bathtub reservoir, the use of radiator is unnecessary. For replacing the bathtub reservoir with something small, like the size of water bucket, the radiator would be needed.
I didn't say I'm not going to use radiator period. One of my options for the new cooling may incorporate this. Or just go with a deep freezer. I don't know yet. Haven't decided. Money is the matter too. I'm broke. I will keep you guys updated once I decide what I'm going to do next.
WAIT WAIT WAIT
I just clicked your signature link and you bought a Unreal Power 5M which costs 6,000 dollars or more?!?! Pleas explain what these cables do that HDMI, or Digital won't deliver?
I've spent over 10 grand on power cords already. Nope. Sorry, can't talk about power cables or audio cables. Wrong thread buddy.
