Oh, well check your local grocery store, you can probably find it there as well.

I sent this to my girlfriend asking her to pick some up in her travels, then she told me just to buy bacon bits and through them in my pepper grinder, so I may try that. Seems like it would be a good enough substitute until I can find the real stuff.

umm i would use the artificial bacon (in salad isle) for that, if you use that hormel real bacon you will clog up your pepper grinder and prob get botulism if you dont clean it really well.

normally I'm opposed to Bacon flavored _____ (as it's usually loaded with calories) but it uses sea salt and has very little sodium. I like it!

LOL @ baconnaise though...

LOL that would be a fun one to explain to your doctor.

"You appear to have botulism... any idea how that happened?"

"Um... well, I may have taken some bacon and left it sitting in a pepper grinder for a few weeks and then ate it..."

We got some free promotional containers of the stuff, and neither my fiancee or I care for it too much.

Wow, and it doesn't even have a lot of sodium in it... I'm giving this a try

Uh.. salt that doesn't much sodium? I'd be worried.

Well, it has bunch of other ingredients in it (but not bacon), so it should contain less sodium than straight salt.

Plain salt has 468mg of sodium, bacon salt has 150mg. 1g serving.

I did appreciate the chuckle but, I just wanted to mention that you can't get botulism that way as it's anaerobic. Also, most health services don't consider cooked bacon to be a hazardous substance and so, doesn't have storage/labeling requirements, holding temperatures or, an expiration date. So, feel free to leave it in your coffee grinder. :)

THAT
IS
AWESOME

Had no idea they made that. Remember to add lot of salt to your bacon and eggs. Yes, may as well add MORE bacon taste, to the bacon. :p
