I grew up in LA so a chunk of them were HS friends. I also went to UCLA but only a few of them stayed in LA. I am very close friends with coworkers too whom I invited. It was a diverse crowd.

1. food
2. debauchery
3. money
5. women

and go from there. a party without all 3 of those ingredients is destined for failure. 5 is not a requirement of you have enough of 1, 2, and 3.
