Here is the thread where I found out how to do it: avsforum. I've done it on both a monoprice component cable and the MS component cable.
Ah, that could be it!Looks like it's a problem w/ HDMI and using either the audio adapter or the VGA cable for the audio

Yeah, I had to clip the black loop wire for it to stop swithing or resetting when I switched sources.
