Um...no, these probably retailed for several hundred for the set, OP got a great deal.

These are R30. Our local Frys had then on sale regularly at $50 each when they were still at production and I can find at least one reference saying they went for $80 a pair.

I suppose $25 for both isn't bad, however when you look at it objectively OP got bottom range speakers from 10 years ago, had to spend two hours cleaning them up and only saved $75 for all his troubles.
