Well at that time I was next to it, Sherlock Holmes.
How does that help? There are no private tracks even close to that area. Either your M3 sprouted wings and was flying, or you did 105 on a public road. 🙂

Spirit of the law vs letter of the law. He already explained it. Do you think there's no difference between running 100mph on a deserted highway in the middle of the desert, and running 60mph in a school zone? They're both ~30mph over...are they the same?
Yes he was, nobody is arguing that. However, many of us don't have a problem breaking a law if we can morally justify that we aren't harming others. Intent of the law matters more to me anyways.
In the eyes of the law there is no difference, other than when you are on a busy road you would probably be done for dangerous / careless driving swell. It doesn't matter what I think the law is quite clear cut.
All of that is redundant however as he was on a busy road.
Just because your subjective morality makes it OK doesn't make it legal, nor does it make it absolutely morally OK.
HAL, you have admitted to breaking many laws here already...you are simply trolling now.

I guess you are okay with firing a weapon into the air as well? I mean, 99.999% of the time no one will be injured. 😉
Is a bullet going to say "ah crap I better slow down now, there's a occupied house right here" ?
Go on with every horror story and what if scenario for days if you'd like.
Fact is: nothing happened.
*wah wah wah*

All you need is a private road.
Sucks Cole's Dragway is about 46.3 miles from your place. We have tracks all over the place in Florida.
Nope it's certainly illegal, and you may care, but I don't, and it doesn't have to be absolutely moral, just moral by my standards because it's my decision. Thats why I and others make the choices we do, and why you make the choices you do.
If it's any consolation, it was raining when I was doing 105 😉
My fastest was 145mph on the way to Moroso with two others (I didn't know them).
Highest ticket was at 127mph when I was 18 on the interstate.
I don't do weaving, I never go flying past another driver as I don't go way beyond traffic speed when I am in it.
Hey guess what, I don't aim into oncoming traffic when speeding. And my car doesn't magically go into reverse and smash into people a mile behind me when I'm done accelerating. You're nit picking plain and simple, as always.
One time I did 5 to 140 on an on ramp, and had to brake to 80 before merging... with any luck you'll pass out in a fit of nanny rage after reading that and stop posting for a at least a few minutes.
Speeding is one of those things where a few dumb asses ruin it for everyone. Some of us know there is a time and place where it's acceptable, other's just weave in and out of stopped traffic at 90 mph, run red lights, play with their cell phones, and don't know where their brake pedal is; thank them for speed limits.
And nobody is arguing that you can't get a ticket for it. That's always a risk. I'm grateful our police officers here are human too, with common sense not to bother people who aren't asking for it, and aren't totalitarian fascists letter of the law nannies like yourself.
There's also a risk you could kill someone.
What private road were you on? BTW the GPS positioning accuracy of the iPhone 4 is +/- 8m, soo....

You're such a power trip, e-raging over telling people what is or is not ok lol.
Only myself perhaps. The risk to myself is my unalienable right as a free willed individual, end of discussion.
And before you start the "society vs individual" socialist BS, note that I've likely paid more in taxes than you've ever made. Certainly enough to cover a fire truck, a tow truck, and a pine box. The anti-socialist in me says that the money I've spent on taxes all my life is for me to spend however I want, not you. Heaven forbid some illegal doesn't get their check in time for that plasma TV sale because I had to be scraped off the road instead. 😀
24' is about far enough for the road I guess. I have no idea the name.

It's not about money it's about the fact that if you cock up, you could kill anyone else on the road you do not have that right, you do not have the right to risk their lives for fun

Perhaps you have no idea the name because there isn't one:

If you were to ask anyone who I've ever given a "demo" to, it's always way out of town and after waiting for people in front to turn and oncoming traffic to pass until it's clear for miles.
So... who else are we talking about exactly, besides willing participants?
Most people are rear ending others, and locking up their ABS and leaving tire marks every other light because they follow to close, aren't paying attention, and driving too fast. Go nuts on those people "not following the law".
Then there is me always aware and anticipating and coasting in advance and not even needing to touch the brake 99% of the time even when everyone else comes to a dead stop for no reason. I'm the least of your "worries".
Even "stepping on it" in traffic is a short affair often lasting no more than a single second for the simple fact that I CAN'T stay it it longer without causing a 6 car pileup in FRONT of me, so I guess that problem takes care of itself.
For the 1 time I speed there are 99 times I'm going 5-10 under (when everyone else is speeding) just because the road sucks balls; lumpy and full of pot holes and unsafe. If you don't get the concept of self policing, you don't get it, fair enough.

Argue all you like, it's a crime and you can't predict what is about to happen, someone could quickly pull onto the road and you could kill them. You have no right, it's a public code with rules for a reason.
