I notice you guys run Prime95 for all of your burn-in testing, and I was just wondering - Since I run the dnet cracker and it consumes 100% CPU at all times, it's essentially doing the same thing as prime, correct? Or does Prime also stress the memory in addition to the CPU?

prime is extra hard on the cpu than most other tests...

if you want to test the memory AND the cpu use memtest86

go in and do options c-2-3-1-2-0 spacebar

Well, ExcaliberPC now charges $8 more for a 0307 than an 0302! Damn I knew I should bought the 0307 when they were the same price, but I wanted to have a Shimmishim :) They must know something!

if i were to buy another cpu, i'd buy another 0302 JIUHB 1700+

i think the 0307's are selling better at excaliber so they jacked up the prices...

Nothing but a marketing ploy? Hmm :) although you are right...when you are doing 2.3ghz on your 0302, and I'm doing 2.2 Ghz on this 0302 ..there can't be much more OC in this chip can there..

actually,

i just checked out the 0307 at eXcaliber... looks like these are interesting chips..

the tbred b's have default voltages of 1.6V (DUT3C)

the 0307's are defaulting at 1.5V (DLT3C)

from what i hear though... most processors can run at or below their default voltage... oh well!

usually yields will improve over time as they find out new techniques to improve them
but there'll be weeks that stand out for their ocing.

Well...

here's #7

1700+ DLT3C TBRED B

currently running

11 x 182 = 2002 mhz @ 1.5V :Q

i'm not getting these super cool temps that these guys in taiwan are getting with their 0309's

40C full load...

maybe it's my slk800 not being seated properly... :(

oh well... still impressive so far...

Oh yeah. Just built my newest computer. I forgot about posting but we all have to pay tribute to Shimmishimishimidimdim don't we?

Rig can be seen here!

I went straight to 166 fsb. No problems. Got bored with that...

So I went to 12 x 185 = 2220 Mhz. Set voltage at 1.725V only because Shim said he used that for 183 Mhz. Btw, I did 185 because I don't like weird numbers (i.e. non 0, 5).

This computer was built for no reason, except to give me a large credit card debt. It sits unused in my living room. I can't really say how stable it is, but it's fairly stable at that speed. Funny that a 1700 could o/c/ almost as high as my 2100. Go figure.

12 x 184 = 2208 @ 1.7V

seems like this chip doesn'tlike high voltages as other people had stated...

it runs at 2300 @ 1.7V but it keeps rebooting...

That's interesting that it only likes such a narrow voltage window, Shim. Notice any changes in temps?

temps aren't any lower... :(

same as before but at lower voltages... i dont' get this chip at all...

yeah... i don't really recommend the DLT3C 1700+

and i'm not considering getting another...

as soon as i figure out what speed this chip is stable at, it's a goner :)

but for a 1700+ it's doing pretty well...

12 x 185 = 2230 (according to wcpuid) @ 1.725V

faster than most 1700+'s i've seen :)

I notice that Excaliber is charging a premium for them..$69 vs $60.50 for the others?

I'm thinking I can get 2.5gig off my current 0310XPMW with air. I don't know how reliable it's gonna be, and i'll have to take my case cover off that's for sure. But I think it will do it and I can at least run a few 3DMark benches.

I just have to figure out a way to keep my cat from crawling in there...:Q

UPDATE: 2.5gig@1.825v worked, now for a 2.6gig try..hehe.
UPDATE #2: 2.6gig@1.825v was a no-go, and scared me back to 2.2gig@1.6v where for now i'll stay. Thought I might have scrambled my bios for a second there.
