The MX1000 has the same 800dpi Optical Sensor as the mx510; batteries and the laser in place of an LED are the only differance between 510 and 1000, 518 is in a class of it's own. It will be only a matter of time before they replace the LED in the 518 with a laser and call it somthing like an MX600. 😀
The MX518 has it's own 1600dpi sensor, my fist day with this mouse and I was shooting stuff and scoreing points that I did not think were possible with my old mx500(800dpi). Just one catch though, I am running Windows 2000 Professional and the software won't install unless I have XP, If anyone know of a hack around this let me know since I despise XXXP.
I am going to work on one of my own when I have time to get over to my mothers home and use her PC. I will install it there and see if I can find a crack. But if you know of a crack for setpoint software or an emulator that fools programs into running on 2k(since the 2 are almost the same) please let me know.
