I am opposed to burning the American flag though I also respect that in the US it is a right to burn one's own flag. The British flag? Go for it.

That was disgusting. On the other hand, it gives the authorities a good look at people who they should keep a close eye on.

But yes, those people would be the first ones to demonstrate on the streets if anybody burned a koran or drew a picture of Mohamed.

Sick bastards.

People are also dying in Afghanistan today in protest of the threat to burn the Koran in the US.

Just wondering if those who are against the burning of the Koran are against this as well.

It's a classic double standard -- you'll find many parrotting the right of those people to burn the American flag, but if you mention burning the Quran, the hand wringing, lip biting, and misty eyes suddenly appear with cries of "You'll OFFEND the Muslims!"

As for these animals, they're not smart enough to see their own double standard.

For what it's worth, I support the right to burn the flag and the Quran, though I believe that both are in incredibly bad taste.

Obviously this is that Florida pastor's fault. Muslims have a right to flip out when someone even discusses disrespecting their superstitions.

I believe that the American flag stands for a country that has written into its Constitution the notion that people have rights that adhere to the fact of their existence and that the Koran is a similar expression of that same fact. This truth can't be destroyed by fire. This truth doesn't depend on the existence of anything but existence itself. Therefore, I don't care if a flag or a book is burned and because I am indifferent to the fate of either, I also have no interest in burning or preventing the burning of either.

Burning a koran as a nonviolent protest against Islam is protected by freedom of speech.
Burning a flag as a nonviolent protest against America is protected by freedom of speech.

We need something more extreme like "wipe your ass with a Koran day" then have people send in pictures of koran pages smeared with shit. Actually someone already made a website like that. I just want a day made from it.

I had a feeling you and your ilk wouldn't condemn this. If these were Americans burning Arab flags you would be whipping out the "B" word so fast it would make your head spin. But the fact that its Muslims burning American flags, you suddenly dont give a shit.

I really dont understand it one bit.

Yes, they are both "Freedom of Speech". It's the Target wherein lies the difference. Are Americans pissed off at Muslims or Al Queda? That's where things fall off the rails.

Wondered how long it would take for someone to post a but, but, but flags are burnt, too in response to the Koran burning. I thought it would be spidey though tbh. Same difference...

Burn an Arab flag, at least it would be more specific and targeted against the Perps that caused 9/11. Better yet, burn pics/effigies of Bin Laden or other Al Queda members and/or their Writings/Videos. At least target the right people.

Come on they are just poor misunderstood, uneducated heathens that we need to reason with. Right up to the point they attempt to kill us all. Then it’s still our fault.

Arrest them and send them to Gitmo now. How dare they burn the American Flag? Now, I don't mind them burning the british flag, they can go to hell, but anyone who even remotely tarnishes the American Flag should be stabbed to death in the middle of the night by CIA agents.

Muslims. Thousands of Muslims in Lebanon hate the US, thousands of Muslims in Palestine hate the US, thousands of Muslims in Saudi Arabi and Iran hate the US, thousands of Muslims in Pakistan hate the US... etc. It's not like Al Queda is this giant global organization that has millions of members.

Also, much of the hatred of the middle east and Muslims was long before 9/11. My city has a lot of Lebanese people or "lebs" for short. They hang out in large groups at school and pick on individuals of difference races. They cause trouble at the bus terminal and police are always telling them to stop loitering. They harass women like you wouldn't believe. Normally when a guy hits on a girl and is rejected, the guy stops. Lebs do not leave women alone. Their book is every bit as evil as the Christian bible, but they actually believe what the book says. It says women are second rate pieces of trash, and that's exactly how they treat women. It says infidels are all garbage, and that's exactly how they treat infidels. It says beat your children, and that's why the house next to my friend's house always has screaming coming from it.

Islam should be thought of as a hate organization similar to neo nazis and the KKK. They're really not that far off.

Who wouldnt want to have a calm, understaning conversation with that. I bet you are all about having them in the neighborhood. You could live near me and have the same thing except they are bible thumping border jumpers. Ooops I made a gernalized statement of fact again get the bigot police in here ASAP.

So you are willing to isolate millions of Americans because thousands elsewhere believe the same Religion and have a Hate On for the US?

So who are the Muslims pissed off at? Americans or our Gov't? Because if it's Americans, then they're nothing but bigots and we should hold their opinion at an even lower esteem than we already do, or it's the American Gov't and their burning of the flag is just as bad as some douche burning the Quran because he's mad at Al Queda. So yeah, your argument is shit. Same thing, double standard, move along. I'm surprised you're the only apologist to go after this. Where's LL and some of the others?

Probably the Government. Is Al Queda the Government of Muslims?

It's not even in bad taste. It's paper and cloth, who gives a damn? If you're that sensitive that burning either affects you at all, the world doesn't need you. Oversensitivity is the basis of hate.
