band name = THE ATOT EFFECT

Come up with a great song, even an instrumental. Post it on YouTube or MySpace and ATOT effect the page, spamtastically, in bulk. Register enough hits in a short period somebody will take notice.

Another twist, you could market your individual/collective tracks/mixes to other artists, song writers, studios, etc.

I just want to have fun :)

Are you a girl?

Thursday's my day in the barrel.

I could lay down some decent guitar or trumpet, and my roommate can suck it up on bass pretty well :)

This looks like it could be really fun!

Dammit. I wish I could record something on drums easily. This sounds like it could be a blast, but... 1) The drums aren't mine. 2) I need permission to get into the studio and record 3) School

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :(

This happens everytime I've tried this: it takes forever to get the drum and bass lines down, then a zillion people start posting random guitar parts.

I'm just playing along with music on my bass guitar right now waiting for the drum track to eventually come. :p

I'll try to mic up and track something tonight.. At the very least, my band has a practice tomorrow night before this weekend's gig so I can get to it then between sets for sure!

Do you have a style/tempo in mind for a drum track?? I usually draw my inspiration when one of the guys brings a new riff to practice and then I can place something to that very easily.

Alternatively, I can just lay some basic back-beats in various styles without any real fills or breaks. But almost always (at least in my band) new songs are born with an acoustic guitar 95% of the time and then evolve from there.

Think we're gonna start off with some Bm 12-bar blues so if you want to do like a "standard blues drum track" thatd be cool. Something a little mellow. Just be sure to do some intro counting clicks, I think thatll work out best for everyone.

I know I plan on listening to the drum track first before adding my own stuff to it so I can get an idea of where the fills and everything are and correspond my bass line to it.

So that'd be like Bm-E-F#? That'd ROCK!

Thats what I was planning on yeah.

Edit: Actually I take it back, it'd be Bm-Em-F#.

Even better.. But I kinda suck at 12-bar blues, would it be really bad if I just do random fills or something? All of my songs are kind of 'Hendrix-like' as in, no real structure. :p

I'm mostly used to doing the blues in A, so it will be a little change-up at least :)

Alright guys. Good news. I'll be in the studio this weekend to record something basic (drums). If by then you guys have something going, we can come up with something new? Or someone post a bare bones guitar riff that they have in mind and I can add to it while I'm down there. Whatever works.

I'd be interested in contributing something. It's near time I'll be spending more time in my home studio, so it sounds like fun.

Bass/Rythm/Lead Acoustic/Electric Guitars are my primary interest and I have gear.

I really wanna kick this off, but I can guarantee you, without a drum track (and preferably a bass track, too), it'll start with about 2-4 bars that make sense, and after that I'll just drift off into my own little world where there's nothing but my hands, my guitar and my wah-pedal. I just tried recording something, started in Bm for about 3 bars, then went to high Em for maybe 2 bars, briefly touched F# and then went to something like E-F#-G-D or something, I can't even remember.. After that I just stopped.. :p

If something isn't happening by mid-week, I can throw together a backing track with some basic drums and a Bass line to give everyone a base to get started from perhaps?

Anyone else use Guitar Pro w/RSE? That could be a good way to get started also?

Just throwing it out there.
