Since my current music has gotten stale. Can anybody suggest some good tunes for my MP3 player for running?

I'm fairly open to different genre's, however it needs to be a fast paced song with a good beat.

Only, no rap. I cannot stand rap.

may not be your cup of tea but try some trance

DJ Tiesto- Traffic
Motorcycle- As The Rush Comes
DJ Tiesto- Love Comes Again
Cosmic Gate- Tomorrow
Blank & Jones- Zero Gravity

<----might get flamed by the tranceheads for some of the choices :p

I really like to listen to dance music when I run, like Darude etc.

Electronic is good also, shoot me an AIM : Qosis55, if you'd like some good titles.

i know you said no rap and you cant stand it... but that really limits a few peoples responses, including myself... but if you can ever look beyond that... i suggest: the roots - seed 2.0. and they are not your traditonal rap... they play all their own instruments (guitars, bass, keyboards) and they dont talk about ridiculous crap in their songs (ie: ice, ho's, spinnin' 24s, err force ones). so, if you ever open up your mind to the genre, this would be a good place to start. just thought id throw that out there.

Good thing you refered to Darude as "dance music" and not trance...:p

listen to some songs from the Rocky IV soundtrack, especially hearts on fire, training montage, and of course, EYE OF THE TIGER! I don't know why but whenever they come up I start running faster!

I listen to Psychadelic Trance (look for Infected Mushroom or Astral Projection for starters).

There's also nice, hardcore rock like Ill Nino or Killswitch Engage.

I prefer metal and hard rock -- Metallica, P.O.D., Godsmack, Nickelback, Rush, Bad Company, and various other bands. Also, a lot of Joe Satriani songs are really hard driving as well with no words to mess up your rhythm (I hate spelling that word...). I have a few patriotic songs mixed in there since that gets my blood flowing, too.

Actually, something like

Offspring - The Kids Aren't Alright
Andrew WK - She is Beautiful

stuff like that.

Cake - The Distance...the all time greatest running song ever recorded. I used to listen to it during every warmup for a cross country race back in high school.

Sure, it's 80's cheese, but nothing pumps me up more than "Jump" by Van Halen. :)
