This is the lamest crowd I've ever seen. I've been to local concerts that had more enthusiasm than this one does. Wow. It's like a manicured 40+ crowd and half the people are just texting on their phones.

I'd walk off stage.

I'd imagine that they just came for some of the Top 40s people that I mentioned before. :\ If I were there, my only complaint would be that all of the songs have been off their last two albums since their earlier albums (especially Absolution and Origin of Symmetry) are just excellent and deserve at least a play!

EDIT:

I actually finally bought Showbiz the other day. While the album definitely has a much stronger emo feel (not sure if that's better than political :p), I dig Sunburn and Muscle Museum.

ah damn, here's the part of the concert that i hate. when i saw them play this live (in vegas no less) the girls loved that shit..as you can clearly see. clap along, sing along, blah blah blah.

//edit

hate is a strong word. i'm jacked enough right now where it's not bad.

I would love to play something like that live...itch the geek + musician scratch

My new goal in life is to become a rock star, so that I can roll out of bed and not have to comb my hair

Did you see the bald guy with his phone? 100% concentrating on recording Matt instead of being in the moment. I mean, what a cool video to have, but holy crap, if the lead singer of a rock band I loved was singing in my face I would be rocking out man :D

When they finished Starlight, I said, "C'mon... Knights of Cydonia or Citizen Erased!" As I heard the opening chords of Knights of Cydonia, "That'll do!" :p

That's kind of the problem with music festivals that have such wildly different artists. Here are all the artists for tonight: Katy Perry , Queen + Adam Lambert , fun., Elton John , Keith Urban , J. Cole, Muse , Tiesto , Chris Brown , Benny Benassi

I never thought I would see Tiesto with Elton John. :p

Yeah, he was like "it's an honor to be here tonight with all these artists...Queen...Katy Perry...Elton John"...now there's an eclectic mix

Yeah, I'll just mute it until Queen comes on. ;)

That's actually a pretty cool little tower he's DJ'ing in right now.

Anxious to hear how Queen sounds with Adam Lambert...

"Are you ready to par-tay?"

One person in the crowd: "Whoo"

Haha

Sweet, I didn't realize that Tiesto was coming on! *unmutes* They really need to throw out some glow sticks... just can't have a rave without 'em! :p

Although, this is probably my least favorite Tiesto song... for an odd reason. My old Altima's CD-based player could play MP3s but it was a bit wonky. I liked putting stuff in folders, but I only had one Tiesto song -- Love Comes Again. Well, its random feature actually chose a random folder and then a song in that folder. So, it chose Tiesto's Love Comes Again a lot. "ARGH!! NOT THIS SONG AGAIN!"

EDIT:

Ohhhh Adagio for Strings -- quite possibly my favorite Tiesto song! ...nevermind, was just a few notes from Adagio for Strings. :(

EDIT 2:

I think the crowd during Tiesto is much worse than during Muse. I think most of them don't know what to do with electronica music.

I've been checking randomly during the uninteresting (to me) artists, and I haven't seen Queen on yet.

I can tell those tweens are thinking, "Wha...what is this? I CANNOT TWERK TO THIS!!"

...and how could you not rock out during Benny and the Jets!? :p I'm hoping we get Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting!

Wow he is amazing at playing the piano live, dang!

I have a lot of respect for anyone who can get up & perform in front of a crowd. It's interesting to see the different personalities, too - for me, I'm mortified wheN I have to have to get up in front of people, but I have a buddy in a band who absolutely thrives off the live-crowd energy, it's like his blood is replaced with an energy drink, just totally comes alive.

Artists are interesting cats...say what you will about their personal lives, but it's like the crazier ones make the best music. MJ, Queen, Elton, etc.

Also LOL at the old guys in the crowd with earplugs in
