I know the general consis here is the systems they build are overpriced and underperforming. I was on the site today and noticed they now also sell the cases by themselves. I like pretty much everything they've done to it. If I was to buy a TJ07 and have all the same mods done about how much would I be looking to spend? They're charing $850'ish which is obviously a lot. But there are a lot of mods done to it too. Months ago I had emailed a few places about modding a TJ07 for me, things I couldn't really do at home due to lack of tools and ability lol.
One guy quoted me $650, one told me to call them (I never did) the 3rd said they couldn't do everything I wanted themselves, but knew people they could send it to to finish what they couldn't for a price. That $$$ was never disclosed to me. But he basically make it sound like it wasn't going to be cheap. Now I'm not looking for the cheapest outlet to get this done. Quality's more important to me than anything. I've been saving $$$ for a new PC for awhile now, and I really am in love with the TJ07. I figure if I'm going to do it I'm going to do it right.
Customized features include: Stealth faceplate, choice of Clean or Serpentine backplate, Clean midplate, Pioneer optical drive (Powder Coated black), custom cut side panel window, cable management modifications, Serpentine Plexiglas topgrill, Powder Coated black interior, Psychopack sleeving kit, and many more "little details"
It might not be all that horrible deal once I add everything included up. Everyone else I've contact about doing this for me doesn't seem to want to give a real quote, and most can't handle it all in house. I kind of like this because I know exactly what it looks like so I'll know what to expect. But if I can find a place that will do everything in house for cheaper and can produce as good results I'll all ears
thumbs up on the powder coated optical drive, that's one of those maybe excessive but nice touches I'm looking for. I know the watercooling aspects of the Murderbox aren't stellar, but if I had the case I could assemble it with better components. I dunno I've just always been in love with how they modded the case.
*EDIT* I just did the math in my head again, for some reason I was thinking this mod was only about $300 over the vanilla case, I did the numbers again and it's $500. DOH lol, so obviously it's not a good deal, but realistically what would I be looking to spend elsewhere for the same level of craftsmanship.
