I'm a reasonably healthy 24 year old male who for a number of reasons never seems to eat enough fruits and vegetables. I'm hoping a multi vitamin can help supplement until things settle down and I'm able to eat a little bit better.

Am I OK with rockin a Centrum or store brand or is there really that much benefit to buying a higher end product?

all seem the same if you ask me.
i mean vitamin A 100% in one bottle has to be the same vitamin A 100% in another right?

i think its all more of marketing gimicks, all the natural mircles in bottles appear to be more like a miracle wallet dissapearingg act to me.
i've taken vitamins for months at a time, never noticed a difference if i took them or not..but just my opinon and experience

If you're lifting regularly a multi vitamin geared toward weight lifters would be recommended.

I take Orange Triad because of the addition of Glucosamine and Chondroitin. I'd rather buy/take one product then two (Animal Pack + Animal Flex).

I only do a handful of movements with weight, and they're done with light weight and not to failure. Pistols with weight fully extended above head, one handed pushups with a dumbbell in the other hand, turkish get ups, snatches and deadlifts. Occasionally when doing one handed pullups I hold a dumbbell in the free hand.

Thanks for all the advice, everyone!

I'd really like to see this. I have trouble believing.

Avoid Centrum. It has iron, which can have negative long term effects (dementia and enlarged prostate IIRC) for guys. We don't chronically bleed, so 90% of our iron is recycled, the rest comes from practically any diet.

I personally take one-a-day men's.

I don't have a camera, unfortunately. It's only a 7.5 pounder.

Just a true one arm pullup is very hard to do. I'm not necessarily calling shens, but it is hard to believe. If you can though, congrats. Weighing as much as I do, it'll be impossible for me to ever accomplish that.

Oh, well I only weigh ~155. I know he catches a lot of flak but I've used Pavel Tatsouline's method over the past three years (although I was doing a lot wrong the first year) to get to this point.

I'm not sure what constitutes 'true' form for a one-arm pullup but my does angle at about 80 degrees as I go up instead of a perfect 90 like when doing regular pullups. My max is only 5 but I'm hoping to double that eventually.

Unless your form looks like this idiot: http://youtube.com/watch?v=e1-t8dkpjrc

or you are built like this guy: http://youtube.com/watch?v=e-bjnXFxen8

Only something like 1 in 100,000 people can do a single one-arm pullup, let alone 5 with added weight.

I really don't have any ego invested in this so if you insist I can't do it then I can't do it. I have no way of proving myself on this but if I someday get a camera, rest assured I'll make a video and rush back to post it here.

On topic: I just take the Target brand of men's health formula. Personally, when I run out in between bottles, and wait for a store trip to get more, I do notice a difference, I feel less energetic, perhaps due to not getting nearly the amount of B vitamins from my regular diet.

About the pull ups: 1 of my friends brothers had a auto repair shop, and I would go down some evenings to hang out with everyone. Well, my friend was 5'7 145lbs and for years had been climbing up into the rafters and doing pull ups from them. He could do one arm pull ups even with the odd grip holding onto the rafter required. Like Bill, 1 arm doesn't ever seem likely for myself, hell, I can barely get 7 reverse grip pull ups at this point, but I just added it as a regular feature to my routine, instead of the "wild hair" one it was before reading this forum every day.

IMHO, don't bother paying for one of those mega vitamin/mineral packs, that gives you 600% of a bunch of different things. Most of the time, you're getting a bunch of water soluble vitamins, and you just end up peeing most of them right back out. Definitely use a multivitamin/mineral, especially as not getting your fruits & veggies means you're being deficient in both areas, and getting the proper minerals is just as important as getting the right vitamins.

The first video involves kipping. I see nothing wrong with that, especially since it will allow him to develop more strength for a potential deadhang one.

Theres nothing wrong with doing it like that. I just wouldn't consider that a one-handed pullup.

congrats to the guy who can do a one handed pull up. That is pretty amazing, I have been working out for a long time and have yet to see anyone pull that off with additional weight.

On the multi-v topic. I go with GNC Men's Sport tablet. I used to take the Costco multi but found that the GNC was of better quality and similar price. The GNC also helps me heal quicker.

I take GNC Mega Men. Centrum and the like are not time released so your body can only absorb what it can, which usually is around 33% of the total multivitamin. I would go with GNC Mega Men, but One A Day is pretty good.
