Multiple Refresh Rates?

Is there a program out there that will allow me to lock the refresh rate at multiple resolutions? I set my desktop to 1024x768 and I'd like the refresh rate to stay at 85Hz. I game at 1600x1200 with refresh rate at 75Hz (max my monitor allows). I'd like to be able to just get into a game without having to mess around with settings. So that when the res changes to 1600x1200, refresh rate also changes automatically to 75Hz. Is this possible?

Both NVIDIA and ATI's drivers allow you to do this nowadays. Dig around under the "Advanced..." menu in Control Panel / Display / Settings and I'm sure you'll find the refresh rate override controls.

You might also look into ReForce (or maybe it's called RefreshForce now, can't remember) or PowerStrip (for more sophisticated resolution/refresh tweaking and management).

if you use the ATI Catalyst Control Center, go into the monitor settings and there is a 3d properties for it that will allow you to set the refresh rate for 3d games
