Last interview tomorrow.
Bottling milk. Which, interestingly pays the most out of all my offers right now.

my grandpa used to deliver milk in the 50s

it sounded kind of fun, he has a lot of random stories that he tells me over and over about it

mostly about his truck messing up or nasty dogs freaking him out

I did do that. '94 - 95, wife (gf at the time) got the buzz so I followed her. Was a blast, but damn was it rough work.

That's about the same timeframe I had.

It seemed like a good deal. They were going to fly me out on their dime and I had to sign (iirc) a six or eight month contract. I think the pay was like $4000 a month, which was a lot more in the 90's than it is now.

But - you might die. Either you fall off the boat or criminals hiding up there eventually fillet you instead of the fish.

I think working on land in the processing plants was safer but much less money, like $2000 a month. And standing in place gutting fish all day? Ugh.

It was really good pay that's for sure. It's true about dying too. We lost a deckhand steaming from Seattle to the Bering Sea. Cap got called back to shore for the inevitable lawsuit.

Gutting fish was the fun part. The first couple days out at sea and the long hours were the parts that sucked for me. Were you out at Ketchikan?

Last interview was today, got another offer.

Looks like I have lots of options and none of them are good. Will take the least bad one so I can collect a paycheck. One day I need to sell the house and move back to minnesota. if I spent much more time alone I'm gonna lose my marbles.

Take the "best" one in your opinion to pay your bills and go from there. You are a strange creature and I clashed with you in here a few times but I still love you as a brother. Best wishes shorty.

I didn't mean it to be hostile, its just I have no opinion of the guy. He's not a person to me. He's an avatar that posts text. I have no conceptualization of his personality.
The only regulars here I see as normal human beings are Red Squirrel and maybe Perknose. When I see their avatars I think of the real guys behind them, and how they have lives and families and homes and voices and stuff.
EVERYONE else is just there, sitting on a page. I close my window and forget about them immediately.

Oh, and Waggy.
But not by choice. He's stuck in my brain forever.

No offense taken. As I said, you sure are a strange creature but something about you that I like. I guess I like your honesty, no sugar coating, straight from the hip attitude.

Oh, where is waggy, haven't seen him for a while. And I thought I am a bad speller and he is even worse.

My wife was out of work by choice for the last 2 years. I finally got her to go back to the working world just in case I get canned and we'd still have insurance. But now she's making 1/2 of what she used to (was NYC pay, now Long Island) and the insurance is shit to boot.

In this country they want to enslave you to the health insurance.

We are all two dimensional creatures here. No malice needed. Still funny.

He will get what child molesters get....

Make fun until it's you or yours.

There is a lot of wilderness to make someone disappear in Canada if they touch your kids and pretty weak murder laws.

I think in this case it was child porn not molestation though.
