The immigration of refugees isn't helping, probably going to make things worse.

The people responsible for this attack are most likely French citizens. Paris has had a problem with poor, jobless, disenfranchised Muslim youth from N. Africa for a long, long time before this current refugee crisis started. I don't remember the exact number, but hundreds of them actually slipped out to Iraq and Syria to train with ISIS, and half of them came back to France! Apparently, the government has just been sitting and "watching" them. They need their own version of Gitmo...

I doubt that's what he meant. They were foolish to let in people from Muslim countries at any point in time. They're incompatible with western culture. It's like buying a bushel of apples where a few are delicious, most are meh, and some blow the fuck up. Would you buy those apples, or would you leave them at the store, and get something else?

The question every country needs to ask is "What can you do for us?". If the answer is "nothing", or "nothing that can't be provided from other immigrants", you don't let them in your country.

I think the issue may lie with the European Union, and how much control they have over border security, immigration and response to this refugee crisis vs. individual member countries. So if France or Italy recognizes an immigrant or refugee, other countries must also do so.

The refugees are only supposed to be in Europe temporarily--the affected countries need to stand up to Putin and form a coalition to destroy ISIS, bring the Assad regime to an end and stabilize the Levant so these people can go back home.

What I think is that at this point little is known for certain, and there's no reason to jump to conclusions unless you're convinced that you already have all the answers.

Open borders or not has little to do with this, immigrants are generally more law abiding than native-born citizens.

And why shouldn't they be, they constantly have the "X for the X-icans" people breathing down their necks, and the constant threat of deportation hanging over their heads. Unless you're going to tell me that a closed border will definitely keep highly motivated terrorists out, closing borders would do more harm than good.

As for the army bit, that's debatable. We are still involved in Afghanistan and Iraq, and now we're getting more involved into Syria too, twelve years after "mission accomplished". Real good news would be no news at all, that would be a sign of stability and peace.

Are you talking about immigration in general or just the refugee crisis? Europe already has stricter immigration policies than the US or Canada. Foolish to let them in after Europeans occupied Muslim lands for 100s of years? Again, you have a very ignorant, uninformed view of the situation. Some of these issues date back to colonial times and WWI/WWII, what with the French and Italians in North Africa and what happened after dissolution of the Ottoman Empire. The entire country of Algeria was granted French citizenship at one point, and they have a long and bitter history of atrocities committed by French army and Algerian terrorists.

I would agree that France and the UK have been somewhat lax in discouraging hate speech and the spread of radicalism within their own countries. No need to be tolerant of clerics and imams who preach "death to the West" from inside your own borders. But I suppose America lets the Westboro Baptist Church get away with the same shit.
 
This is why I said several times in numerous threads in this site and other sites. A sovereign nation must control its border and who goes in and out. Pick the best immigrants with skill and/or money, not the angry ones with no prospect.

If so, please elabo-fricking-late. Do you really think attacks by extremists are somehow related to the number of immigrants a country takes on?

Do you realize the idiocy of a comment like "a nation must control who is going in and out...pick the best immigrants"....and you believe this is somehow helping curb terrorism?

Do you realize how you use this act committed by Islamic extremists/ISIS to justify your dislike/hate for Immigrants, which IN YOUR COUNTRY ANYWAY are not even from Islamic countries but mostly from FRICKING MEXICO/SOUTH AMERICA...and now explain to me how this and the other thing go together? Oh really? Somehow you forgot to quote the IMPORTANT part of my post, something about "A SOVEREIGN NATION". Talk about being DISHONEST.

Have you ever been to other countries? I have, from developing to developed countries. They do check people that come in and out and control the flow of immigrants. If you want to get in and stay, you have to score high enough on immigration test (from several factors) from Canada and Australia, just to name a few.

I guess they are ALL stupid and dumb except you and your kind. 😵
