Let me see if I can get my arms around your contention JEDIY. Here you divide your time being a US resident, a Polish resident, and an Israeli resident, Yet when TareX has the bulk of his family in Egypt and communicates with them, only ole TareX knows nothing. And you JEDIY maintain you know everything about mid-east issues. And even better yet, you can speak for the Egyptian people, in a country of which, you have never have never resided in.

You have no clue do you??
Until now your Muslim brotherhood brother TareX came off as if he was living in Egypt!
Several times he made the claim that he was living right across from the presidential palace watching this whole debacle unfold........

Now he admits that he is not living in Egypt ancd quite possibly has no family in Egypt.......facepalm el mundo!!

very interesting wouldn`t you say? I have been in Egypt many times....wouldn`t want to live in Egypt!!

He's always made it clear, in multiple threads, that he's currently in Canada and his family is in Egypt. Stop being a douche. Go start an Israel thread or something.

There you go again JEDIY, have you no shame. As you say, "You have no clue do you??
Until now your Muslim brotherhood brother TareX came off as if he was living in Egypt!"

Hate to tell you JediY, TareX has already stated he does not support the Muslim Brotherhood. You already made that assertion with no proof, and now you try that same character assassination lie again.

I ask again, JEDIY, do you have no shame? You are simply a lying sack of shit using non existent logic. You may be entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own non factual facts. If you assert TareX is a pro-Muslim brotherhood poster, please prove it. Put up or shut up JEDIY.

(sigh)... this is one professional regime.... many on facebook are starting to repeat the broken record of "we already got what we wanted". The goal of Mubarak's speech was to divide the people, and that he has. Just a reminder:

Some facts:
1) Zero constitutions have actually been amended
2) Emergency law won't be amended till "people go home"
3) Zero parliament memberships have been revoked.
4) Mubarak has temporarily delegated to Suleiman.

Mubarak is only a "symbol" of the regime. The regime is strong and running. Mubarak hasn't even stepped down. ZERO irreversible steps have been made.

You have no clue do you??

Hey barker, still barking? So which part of "I hate the MB and despise any political group that uses religion as a weapon to gather support" did you fail to understand? Do you need me to say it in "doggy language"? The MB is barely part of the uprising; no bigger than 15% by the most generous of estimates -you really do not know anything about the situation.

But every thread needs a troll and you seem happy to take the role. Fine. I just don't want this thread to be about the idiot troll, but rather, more about a professional dictator who's trying to keep his regime in power for the next couple of decades, by manipulating his people during these very few crucial days.

I wonder who the US is going to send in to help the Egyptians if they ask us for help? Someone/somepeople from the Iraq restructuring team? This will truly be interesting to see long term, I hope the people of Egypt take a good look at Iraq's recent history and chose wisely!

As today' anticipated Mubarak address to the the Egyptian nation turned from delightful hope that Murarak would finally resign to the reality that Mubarak was still trying to somehow hang on, I somehow see no reason for Egyptian pessimism. And instead see this as a chess or card game, where Mubarak is running out of all moves and all cards to play. And if Egyptian protesters simply stay the course for the next week or so, the protesters will and must prevail.

Meanwhile all eyes will be on Sulieman in the next few days. IF Sulieman fails to deliver that TareX laundry list of ---"1) Zero constitutions have actually been amended
2) Emergency law won't be amended till "people go home"
3) Zero parliament memberships have been revoked.
4) Mubarak has temporarily delegated to Suleiman."

Failing Sulieman addressing the demands of the protesters with meaningful reforms, Sulieman will simply become sillyman, as the Egyptian protests continue unabated. Once Sillyman has no cred, Hosni will have no remaining moves or cards left to play. Especially since the Egyptian army is saying Sulieman better address the demands of the Egyptian people.

Waiting for this to break out in typical muslim savagery.

Weren't the riots in Greece more violent (even though less people were involved and they were about less important issues) than what's happened so far in Egypt?

I imagine you think the American revolution was an act of 'muslim savagery'?

Mubarak's in Sharm El-Sheikh, the presidential resort palace.

The military has made a not-too-bad announcement that it will personally guarantee the constitutional amendments and the gains of the revolution. However, the revolution has so much momentum now, even that won't cut it for the masses. People are calling for the military to quickly disassociate itself from the regime and take over the country -pending amendments and parliament reform.

Millions are flooding in the streets already. Egyptian State TV just announced that there will be an announcement from "the presidential authority". The military has previously announced that they will make a more decisive announcement soon.

The longer the military stays neutral, the more credibility they lose..... today will be sort of a decisive day.

Obama handled this well.

Are you kidding me? He got punked. Coming out and saying he was going to step down without obviously knowing what he was going to do made him look like a supreme fool. Obama got bitch slapped by Mubarak/Egypt, nobody respects him.

It's almost like Obama was just reiterating news reports and taking credit for it. WHOOPS! That right there showed he had no clue what was actually going on or what mubarak would do. Completely out of the loop, not involved and in the end he looks really bad.

This is obviously a highly fluid situation, how exactly is a POTUS supposed to know ahead of time what's going to happen? Mubarak could have easly went Capt. Insano and tried to do a 'fight to the death' type of thing with his supporters as troops. The best thing the US can do at this point is stay as much out of it as possible, appeal for non-violence, and when it's clear who's interimly (-sp?) managing the country, make an offer for assistance in expertise (we just went through this in Iraq...as badly as that was managed, I can't help but think we gained a lot of experience and lessons learned from it) on setting up the new constitution/government. Their military is in control, obviously we don't need troops ala Iraq. That's even if they'd want our assistance there...

It's been pretty obvious throughout this that nobody in his administration has any idea of what is going on outside of what is shown on CNN. From his comments to his national security advisor's, he's obviously just watching TV and commenting.

What else can he really do at this point? He may be getting feedback from their military, and even Mubarak/that Admin himself/theirselves...we just don't know. It's not like O'Bummer is going to be announcing to The World that he's "conspiring" with the Egyptian military to "setup a US sock puppet", which is exactly as how that news would be spun - at least at this point in time. The Egyptians started this themselves - that's good, at least we didn't have to go liberate them - let them quarterback it.

Haha, well, at least it'd be our sock puppet and not someone else's....but Ideally I'd rather have whoever they want, even if that's the Muslim Brotherhood, i.e. same as the "Palestinian's" elected Hamas. They should elect who they want, it's their country.

Celebration today. Reform tomorrow, and prosecution the day after. Now, Egypt can proceed towards being the first world country it deserves to become. The first irreversible step has been taken.

What a joyous day for Egypt! :D
This was the inevitable first step that had to happen, but it's what comes next that really matters.

Heres to hoping we see some concrete steps in the next few days towards ammending the constitution or drafting a new one to insure free and fair elections that includes all parties, lifting the emergency martial law status and beginning down the road to democracy.
