What's wrong with voting in that sort of thing? Believing that it is guaranteed to make some sort of ground breaking difference is one thing, but simply voting? There is nothing pathetic about that. It sure as hell beats the people who sit around and barely express themselves let alone even think about and research politics.

Tab asks me if there is a link to the impeachment process. And to that I can only link you to the Constitution of the United States of America.
Our founding fathers left the process and the grounds somewhat vague. " High Crimes and misdemeanors " could be basically anything up to and including how the person parts his hair. And the impeachment conviction process not only applies to the President, it can apply to any Federal Official.
In theory an out of control legislative branch could use the process to establish de facto legislative control, but thus far in American history, I think its been used sparingly and fairly responsibly. And in the two most successful incidents of its use, IMHO, it was used as a threat to achieve an end. And there I speak of (1) The resignation of Richard Nixon who did resign after seeing his chances of being saved in the Senate reduced to zero. (2) During the Tea pot dome scandal, the sitting Attorney General refused to criminally prosecute the scoundrels who looted the nations oil reserve. Finally Congress lost patience and threatened to impeach him. This produced his resignation. When Coolege tried to nominate a clone to replace him the congress twice refused to confirm him. Finally an AG who could and did prosecute was placed in office and justice was served.
But in terms of instructions on the brutal and often partisan process itself, probably the best instructions are to be found on the failed removal attempts against President Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton which were waged as media centric partisan witch hunt fashion. But to my knowledge, there are no set in stone precedents that apply to the process. I would think, in theory, that both the House and Senate could go into some sort of secret secession, and then emerge some time later with the revelation that some given Federal office holder had already been removed from office. And once informed of said fact, the removal is final and not subject to any appeal or review in any other venue.

Absolutely he should be impeached - the real question is what other real punishment should he and his handlers (namely Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and Perle) be handed in response to their conduct these last seven years?

I think the article was very clear he dodged them. When the state of NY requires to take you to court for payment. You have gone from forgetting or not knowing to actively ignoring and dodging.

Anyone who reads that thread and/or researches that particular topic knows you and your ed-op are full of it. Probably the reason you dropped it like a bad habit and ran off once posters weren't joining in with your circle-jerk, and even worse - reading the story and making common sense calls you couldn't bring yourself to perform given Franken's position as your liberuhl icon.
Oh it was gold alright, but of the iron pyrite variety unfortunately. The comedy is that you don't know (or ignore) the difference.
