All the US 24/7 Cable news networks should just be scrapped. Fox/MSNBC for being Propaganda Outlets, CNN for being Useless. Clearly the concept of the Press has been lost by all.

Really?

I mean MSNBC and CNN have seen their ratings TANK while Fox News has been going up and up. Maybe both those organizations are so far out there and Fox News is much more center than you think.
He's right and so you are. I think MSNBC is worse now, they are shameless. Fox is right, but I think somebody quantified it some months ago and it wasn't actually as bad as maybe it originally had been. MSNBC isn't even a real news oraganization now.

yep. both channels have news shows and commentator shows; while some on fox news shows may selectively present items (or whatever it is the complaints are), the other boys have so shattered that "pushign the edge" that all that's missing is a presented byt he DNC logo during their "news" broadcast.

This may be the worst thing I have ever seen broadcast on cable "news."

Any American that doesnt come out and condemn this sort of intentional race-baiting is showing their true colors as a partisan hack.

As of a few months ago MSNBC saw their ratings increase nearly 25% year over year. How is that 'tanking'?

The rational look at this would say that people appear to like ultra-partisan news sources that tell them what they want to hear over objective news. Fox has been cashing in on this for years, so it's not exactly a surprise.

Sounds about right to me. It's too hard to hear both sides and digest. Must easier to be told what to think and hate the other side instead of empathize with it. After, they are republicans, which makes them idiots by default, or they're liberals which makes them idiots by default, as it goes.

I used to watch MSNBC because I wasn't that much of a Bush fan and I liked seeing them rip him a new one. Now I don't watch it all, because all they do is suck on Obama's knob 24-7. It's quite pathetic.

Now if I want to watch news, I'll watch CNN Headline News during the day.

Do you think that news should tell people what they want to hear? (this isn't in reference to the op really)

MSNBC = Liberal
Fox = Conserative

Only one has recieved any kind of money from this administration. MSNBC's parent company is GE. GE recieved bailout money to help their very solvent small banking branch. Furthermore, GE has won a very large contract for designing the electronic medical records system - to be used with an Obama HC plan. MSNBC even gave Obama something like 60 hours of free advertising for his health plan and GE's Healthy Imagination - to push these through and sell them to the public. It is questionable if MSNBC's huge leftware turn and their unabashed support for Obama had anything to do with these large monetary promises. But it really does not pass the smell test.

MSNBC today is essentially Obama's media wing. Something we should all be really afraid of.

MSNBC started its leftward tilt long before Obama got into office. Your idea doesn't pass the simple temporal ordering necessary for a causal mechanism.

(Don't tell him that former GE Chairman of the Board and CEO Jack Welch is a conservative republican. Oh, and don't mention that current GE Chairman of the Board and CEO Jeffrey Immelt is a conservative republican. Because that would be confusing to him.)

Ah, so that explains why MSNBC touts the conservative line against the misguided liberals....

...oh wait it doesn't

MSNBC is far-left progressive, far more extreme than Obama is. They've already begun criticizing the administration for giving too much lip service to Republicans.

It is what it is, and they did get big monies from the government. However else anyone wants to analyze it, I don't care :p

MSNBC is only slightly better than Fox in terms of the amount of bias toward their selective idealogies. Fox is just more blatant about it. Cable news is a horrible place to go if you want to be 'informed'. Oh, and those who claim ratings as an indicator of lack of bias are idiots. Fox getting better ratings than MSNBC doesn't mean squat in terms of journalistic integrity.

GE was run by conservative republicans before the bailouts, and MSNBC was a liberal station. So claiming that Obama bailed out his buddies at GE for some quid pro quo for MSNBC to become a liberal station is a fairly specious argument. That's what irwincur is proposing.

Ugg, even my local paper employed the exact same reasoning. This is absolutely sickening. That the opposition to Obama is racist and citizens using their rights are racist. They also cut the photographs to show the picture of the "military assault rifle" and left out the color of the citizen carrying it.

LOL, you think that they intentionally left the color of the guy carrying the assault rifle off screen, and then proceeded to push the "whitemen carrying assault rifles t townhalls and are gonna kill the black president" bullshit because they are "inept"? You can't be that blind?
