I'm trying to figure out what is win2k's equivilant to win98's msconfig that I use to manage programs that run at start up.

This is different than the Start-Program Files-Start Up. I have Diskeeper and it starts a small program that I don't want it to. And I would also like to see what other stuff is running at the start up as well cuz I there's quite a lot of stuff running when I view the task manager 😛

heh heh heh.....

right click my computer hit manage then expand services and applications then highlight services

You can copy MSCONFIG.EXE over from Win98 and use it under Win2K for most of the same functionality.

Personally, I prefer Start Up Control Panel. It gives a little more flexiblity and is quite good.

Thought I've seen that before ctll. Thanks. And thanks for the suggestion AndyHui. Disabled some of the services that I didn't like such as "Allow Remote registry manipulation" Never saw that thing before 🙂 Problem solved!
