OK, this has been driving me crazy for months now. Somehow I had this setup properly but I got a new computer a few months back and can't get it to work properly ever since.
I have an HP laser printer with a couple of extra paper trays. Tray one holds plain paper and the next couple hold letterhead.
I use ACT which, which in turn uses Word templates calling them up to write letters and inserting specified data into the letter. Anyway, I used to have the template setup so that it would print on the proper letterhead, say from tray 2. Now I can't get it to work. If I just push print, it goes to plain paper. I have to go to the printer setup every time and choose tray 2. Then, I forget to set it back and I print out a bunch of other stuff on expensive letterhead by mistake because I have changed the global settings and every app prints to tray 2.
When I go to paper source in page setup in the template file, it gives options of default tray and form select.
How do you specify in templates printing preferences without affecting the global printer settings?

OK more info: My global printer settings appear to be correct. All the trays show up as options and are labelled with the proper paper that they contain, but those options don't seem to appear available to MS Word page setup.
