Oh, so an idiot actively screwing up their own machine is the same as being targeted by a corporation.

There was more information in other articles on it. Basically they fell pray to one of the automatic upgrades to Win10 (i.e. they didn't select it). They came back from a vacation and the machine(s) had upgraded, and were basically unusable.

So yes, it was the same as being targeted by the corporation because they were...

I've had to reinstall 10 on each of my pc's at least once (I just clean installed on my tablet) and my desktop and laptop have had multiple clean installs since last July. I never once considered legal action against MS but since I was not present in that company and don't have the details then it's hard to criticize the ruling in their favor.
