Been running 7.05730.11 for almost a month. I don't think it is beta. I suspect this is all yesterday's news.

Something wrong - it's not supposed to allow a double post of the same reply. ???

Anyway, it is yesterday's news. It's the same file I downloaded and installed on 19 October 2006.

..so how's it working?? any issues?

No issues here but I normally use Firefox. All I use IE for is Windows Updates, WSUS server management, and Outlook Web Access.

Are you using Genuine Java or Microsoft's "Java"? I've been using Java 5.0.9 without problems ever since IE7 was released.

We upgraded a couple of PC's at work to IE and it totally screws up some websites. Some sites werent even useable, and others would render with a completely different view than on IE6. Like the links on the site are usually on the side, and in IE7 the links were all across the top? What's up with that. These were mostly bank and county sites, but either way, we had to switch back. I also find it has problems with CSS on certain sites. I'm holding off on IE7 at work and home until Microsoft gets it right. Hmm... Patch Tuesday anyone?

I would think its more like IE7 corrects what IE6 would screw up instead of the other way around. :p

Basic rule -- Never install a new Microsoft product until it's been in "full release" for at least a year. Just read some of the through the 2,860,000+ returns from searching Google for IE7 + problem to see why.

We're stuck with IE for Windows updates and other lame Microsoft-centric sites that don't work with other browers, but there's no need to take down the rest of your system with the expected problems typical of all Microsoft releases.

Vista may turn out to be a very nice operating system... in a couple of years. :p

I think that most major Microsoft products turn out to be very nice after a few years. :)

Look at XP, it blew balls until SP2 came out.

Debatable. But if you think that Microsoft took everything good in XP-SP2 and made that better in Vista, I think it has promise. And probably sooner than it took XP.

After installing IE7 you may get an error message that says something like:

.

The procedure entry point 'GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be allocated in the dynamic link library PSAPI.dll'

.

This is an error to do with some "broadband helper" software your ISP has installed on your computer...

All of the IE7 betas, rcs and the final rendered HP scanner unsuable. HP does not have a fix for it yet.

One the dozen or so machines that I've had to work on that had IE7 installed (through auto updates), IE7 was the cause of the problems I was called for. Network security locked up so tight that things wouldn't work, programs not functioning, general slowness. In each case, when I rolled back (via System Restore) to a pre IE7 environment, the machines were fine. I then manually went in and disabled the update for IE7 on those machines.

I'm holding off for a while too... and then I'm going to test it on an unimportant machine!
