I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome the OP to the brave new world of the internet.

I didn't know this case was still going on. Keep it up, Mr. Nissan.

I'm all for big business, but anyone who thinks Nissan Motor Corp should be given the domain name is an idiot.

Read this a bit ago when I went to go to Nissan's website :p. Personally, I'd prefer typing three less characters, because I am a fat, lazy, American slob... so I hope Nissan Motors wins :p.

does Regs work for Nissan Motor Co.?

Or their ad firms?

or is he just a Nissan fanboi with emotional issues?

Why doesn't Regs and Nissan Motor Co. just get a room already.

None the less, I do not understand why Nissan motors didn't just buy the damn thing. Where they tryin gto set an example?

The kiddy porn is an entirely different situation. If you had a hobby of making crafts that had stars in them, I think you should be within your rights to keep using 'starcraft.com' for whatever uses you deem fit.

Retro is in, aside from no MIDI music blasting at full volume the site is a fitting tribute to the 90's. I should email him asking if he does web design lol. You can't fake a 90's looking site it requires talent to make a site look that damn old.

Why would it matter if it is kid porn, the person will still own the site even if he is in jail.

This entire thread just hurts my head

Nissan is his family name, so I guess he's selling his family on www.nissan.com. No really, why would anyone want to side with this convoluted arrogant dick-weed who squats on a trade marked name for his own personal purpose? Nissan makes affordable and safe cars while fueling the worlds economy with employment and goods. This guy is a self employed nut job who offers a generic service you can find walking 10 feet from your house. I don't think he has any plans on expanding to the size of Nissan Motor USA any time soon.

God that bugs me. I know some small business owners who deserve the world for the work they put in. Some of them make it big, but they earn their respect. Mr. Nissan hasn't earned anything but embarrassment. Nissan Motors however obviously earned their respect for many years.

lol, you are such a tool.

Why the hell do you care what he does with his domain name? Someone with the last name of Philips could have registered Philips.com and as long as they weren't cybersquating, it's completely fine. The guy registered it first, IT'S HIS LAST NAME and has run businesses with Nissan in the name before Nissan Motors was known as such.

If anything it's Nissan who probably played hardball. They probably offered him a little bit of money for it, but when he turned it down they let the lawyers loose believing that they could either win the domain outright or give him to settle inside of sinking a ton of money to defend himself.

Have you tried visiting Anandtech.com lately?

I don't think he should give up the name, but he's profiting off this too.

Did you bother reading the page? Defending against lawsuits costs money.

Nissan Motors could have just offered to buy the domain or they could have settled for a link to their own website. Instead, they tried to bully the small guy with a $10,000,000 lawsuit.

Well done, Mr. Nissan.

Do you work for Nissan? This might be one of the dumbest rants on ATOT in some time.

Mr. Nissan was doing business in the USA and on the internet with that name first, fair and square.

Maybe Nissan motor corp ought to invest their money elsewhere, like building better cars.

Thanks for the link OP. After seeing how Nissan has handled the situation, I have decided I will never do any business with them, ever.
