Hey i want to get a mp3 player probably becuase i've had problems with my ipod's and i don't know what other mp3 players are good that are out there.. i hear the creative zen's are good but i really don't like there interface and looks... what else is there ??

I guess I'm oldschool, but I like my $35 RCA CD-MP3 player. 🙂
Reads MP3s off of CD-RWs, and is fairly easy to navigate.

Price range? Into video? UMS Compliant?

i don't need videos and i'm not sure what UMS compliant is... uhm i'm looking for the cheapest but reliable i can get.. as i said i'd like to stay away from ipod's b/c i've had no good with them although geat products mine just broke within a year or less .. :-/ of course it was an older generation (it ahs the bottoms up top below the screen then the wheel with a button in middle) but still they broke mighty fast to be comfortable on getting another (the ipod before was a gift)

The Sony Walkman MP3 players are pretty good, and i think they're only around $150 or so for a 1 GB model that holds about 800 songs (with the Sony software) and has a 50 hour battery life.

for 150 i think couldn't you just get a creative zen 20gb on ebay that would be fine condition.... only reason i just don't know if i like the creative zen... is there any dell 20gig's?

i'd prefer no ipod at the moment becuase i've had two ipods go bad withint less than a year each. (or close to with the 1st one)

You could get a much larger player with a hard drive. My friend just got a 20 gig Iriver with video for about $50 more then I paid for my Sony, but there is no way on the face of the planet I would want to walk around with that in my pocket. If size dosn't matter to you though then you would want to look at hard drive players.
