I need to convert m4a files to mp3, i've been using ImToo recently but it keeps stopping encoding halfway through tracks leaving me with a 1 minute or whatever long track, what other decent free programs are there around?

Just downloaded DB poweramp, seems to be working but wow is it slow! 10-11 minutes per track!
I've got about 60 tracks! its gonna take all year!

Edit: Thats 10-11 minutes for 20 tracks  lol.

I just listened to a couple of tracks that i converted, they're terrible they skip every 10 seconds, have great gaps in them and everything, i just need to put some m4a tracks onto a CD! What else can i use?

The open source CDex can batch convert them and even look in subdirectories, you might need a plugin to support m4a though.

I'm not sure if that is to encode mp3 to m4a or what? i need to do the reverse, maybe i'm going stupid?..

Plugin to read (possibly), set your encoder to MP3 using LAME to convert from m4a to MP3.
