Hmm, I thought EAC was primarily for ripping CDs and encoding them. I use RazorLame when I have a file recorded in SoundForge that I need to convert to MP3 format (I think Lame produces better output and has more options than SF's built-in MP3 encoder).Originally posted by: Confused

Why do you choose 'preset extreme' over 'standard'? The increase in sound quality is marginal at best but the bitrate is ~25% (?) higher.
Most of the known problem cases for 'standard' are due to limitations of the mp3 format itself (and to a lesser degree the psychoacoustic model that LAME uses), you aren't likely to see much improvement even if you switched to 'insane'.
Besides, the main reason for the existence of 'extreme' is only to discourage people from trying to improve 'standard' by experimenting with additional command-line options (and screwing up in the process).
